Am I Doing Something Wrong Here?

11 posts in this topic

ok so in my nfl.com league, i started out 3-0, and now ive lost 3 straight and i'm 7th in a 8 team league. i mean i guess 3-3 is ok but still. i guess its cause i follow the projections too much and that probably kills me but IMO i feel like i start the best players. is it cause im not looking into the matchups good enough or what? im lost lol my team is as follows:

Qbs: Peyton Manning, Mike Vick
Rbs: Jammal Charles, Michael Turner, Peyton Hillis, Marshawn Lynch, Pierre Thomas, Leshaun Mccoy
Wrs: Miles Austin, Wes Welker, Mike Williams(TB), Malcom Flloyd
TE: Tony Moaeki
D: saints

Assuming you have 2 RB slots and a flex, I'd try to trade one or two of your RBs(possibly Hillis and Turner) for a TE. Tony Moeaki has had some decent weeks but I wouldn't rely on him as my TE1.

You may also want to check the waiver wire for other defenses. The Saints aren't getting some of the lucky bounces that led to numerous turnovers this year so I'd look to to play defenses who have better match-ups.

Seahawks do play Arizona at home this upcoming week. Might be an interesting matchup. But of that list Titans are probably the team you want if you like to hold onto defenses. But they have a semi-tough matchup against the Eagles.

Picking up Hernandez was a great move.

Teams in th league may not want to trade but if you dangle a good enough offer, they may warm up to it or at start negotiating.

I think your team is fine. Maybe try to get a better TE, but other than that I would just pin it on bad luck.

I always say that Luck plays a big part in a season. Either you have it or you don't. Some seasons my teams were just unlucky. Others they were catching all the breaks.

You can be good at Fantasy Football, but that doesn't necessarily translate to wins.

Plus going 3-0 pins you last on the waiver wire. So all the teams that were losing can fortify their rosters with the undrafted break out players. Making the other teams in the league that much tougher to defeat down the road.

ehh it seems like my draft wasnt as good now that i look back. i used a pretty high pick of pierre thomas and hes been out. michael turner has like 1 TD in 6 games. the only people producing good weekly are like manning, austin, charles, mccoy, and welker.

You can never tell when you drafted. Pierre Thomas's stock rose when Hamilton went down for the year. Reports were that M Turner was in this incredible football shape and studying. But he just isn't getting the TDs. The situations haven't been there for him.

But I'm sure you got a steal on McCoy. He dropped in most drafts and is outproducing his ADP. So that's a plus.

and everyone is saying that the falcons are like "perserving" turner or something for when they make their playoff run, so they've been giving the ball to snelling, so hopefully he makes his "break out" soon and starts putting points on the board.

and yeah i got mccoy in the 6th round (out of 15) idk if that was too high or not, but i already had turner and then i picked up charles a little later cause a few of the guys werent there drafting so it was on auto-pick
