Three Primetime Games In A Row For The Steelers

53 posts in this topic

I just found out reading this article on Yahoo that the Steelers will get primetime games in Weeks 8, 9 and 10.

I respect the Steelers as an organization and what they've done this season has certainly been impressive but what the hell were the schedule-makers thinking when they created the schedule?

Ughh. I love football. Even tonight's matchup intrigues me. But when I am forced fed a team during primetime too much it starts to irk me.

Ben is back from suspension.
Exactly. I never bought the fact that the schedule makers didn't know what Ben's status was, I mean if they truly didn't know they would have actually scheduled a Steelers game in Prime time during the first 4 weeks. I call BS! All the Steelers prime time games are AFTER Ben's suspension?? I'm shocked they didn't schedule Ben's first game to be a Prime time game so they would have a good story.

Now I think this is a little too much if you ask me but still NBC is still worst with showing the NFC East games it seems every other week.

I still think Flex scheduling needs to occur at all times of the schedule and even for ESPN MNF. When the schedule is made in April the games that look like good prime time games back than turn out so different in September. We may have been saved from the boring Giants-Bears matchup, heck The Titans-Jags don't sound like a good Prime Time game for tonight.

You know what? They get FIVE for the rest of the season. That's like every other game. At least one of 'em is against us. But 3 games in a row? Somebody didn't plan that out right.

Well as much as I hate them, the NFL knows what there doing.

The Steelers, and Cowboys are rating cows. They can't put these teams on enough.

It's an article I noticed and decided to share it here. Call it "complaining" but no one can tell me three primetime games featuring the same team is fair or even makes sense.

I think Warden was just messing with ya.

Get used to it now. Come these next three weeks, we're all gonna be a lot more tired of anything "Steelers".

Very clever Wardy. Where'd you pick up that zinger?

I gotta agree with the Warden here.

Who cares really? If any team deserves 3 straight primetime games, its teams like the Pats, Colts, and Steelers.

Yea, and we're playing the SB Champion Saints, the Bengals who I guess the schedulers felt would be good for prime-time with us considering the sweeping of the division and the Golden Boy's Patsies. For what it's worth, the first two are away games.

Oh, and I wouldn't say the Ravens are any less deserving either.

Not sure what happens with scheduling to be honest. I know that the Chiefs have never been to Heinz field and we haven't been to Oakland in a long time.

Yeah, but we can be so boring to watch sometimes. And we seem to play our worse on Monday Nights, so I can see why we don't have many Monday Nighters.

I thought it would be different this year, but we still have a very boring offense to watch...

I'm really not. Parts of the game still irk me but overall, I've moved on and am looking forward to seeing the Ravens demolish the Bills with Ed back on the field this Sunday.

Well as an outsider, I've noticed over the years that when we win and you lose, "everything sucks" that week.

Me too. I prefer defense over offense any day.

But the offense is painful to watch considering all the talent we have.

Do you think Flacco is still growing? Maybe it's Cam. He's got a proven track record, but he might not be the right guy for Flacco. I haven't watched enough Ravens' games this year to really make a judgment.

Did you watch any Raven games last year? Its the same offense.

I think Flacco is playing well for the most part.

I have been a Cam supporter, but the dude has been terrible this year.

I was away on business. I believe I announced it and I DID check in after the game from my hotel room. Pay attention.

Oh and I never did get to watch the game aside from the 1st Steelers TD in the airport; DVR failed to record the game. Ask me if I was upset.

Quick story:
I had it on my Evo phone on the plane. Then we took off and there was no wifi. We landed and I found out we lost. On BOTH planes home on Friday I had wifi, but not heading out on Sunday. ;-(

So ALLLLLL week, I still plan to watch it when I get home because it's Ravens/Steelers and I want to give my input once I'd seen it.

I get in my chair on Friday night. Beer in hand, I hit play on the DVR and I get something to the effect of: "There was a problem with this recording. Would you like to delete it?" No other options. It recorded 5.0 hours of NOTHING!

No NFL replay, no nothing. My buddy has it on his DVR too, but he's abotu 2 hours south. This one was a sacrifice to the Company Gods and there's really nothing I can do about it.

I record as I watch (for some reason). I'll end up deleting it without watching it again. Only regular season game I regret not keeping is when we went up to N.E. a few years back and Ryan Clark laid out Wes Welker.

At the stadium last week I got an emergent text my aunt was in Shock Trauma so I had to go to the concourse to get a cell out, went back to my seat only to figure out I over hydrated at tailgate, in the ladies room found someone puking their guts out and the nurse in me could not let me leave her so I rendered aid and got help, get back to my seat and there was a little old lady in front of me that got in trouble with the heat at the end of the 3rd--she was dressed for 50 degree weather and it was in the mid 70's, got her help and I figure I missed about a quarter of the game lol
Went home, moderated the board and watched the game!!!!
