Cribbs and Harrison are friends and former teammates from Kent State. Harrison stayed on the field with Cribbs until the end and even Cribbs said it was a clean hit.....Steelers hater.
The hit on Cribbs was legal. Hard but legal. The hit on the WR M guy (I don't know how to spell his name lol) was not.

I don't care if he bought Cribbs a house afterwards it was still a cheap shot...

It's too late when a player is permanently injured from a neck injury or concussion. Play the game to win but not to hurt another player. Just remember, what comes around goes around.
I agree with you, Capo, as I don't want to see any more players go down to spinal injuries or concussions.

At the rate we're going, I have to wonder if the sport of American football - especially as played in the National Football League - is really worth all of the injuries of this type.

This may not be easy, But I think there is a way.7 people who have intimate knowledge of the game sit back(after each game) and watch hard hits in slow motion of course and judge weather a hit was on purpose or not( to hurt another player)if a defensive player comes straight ahead and a offensive player lowers his head just before the hit (helmet to helmet)that should not be considered a (fine Suspension)you should be able to see that in slow motion. This would not be perfect someone will get suspended for a hit and their fans will be crying foul of course. but there is no voting to control this issue or I would say leave it alone.3 people assigned by the commissioner and 4 ex players.2 defensive ex's 2 offensive ex's.Steve young not included. The players union could vote on the 4 ex's .aaaaaand let's include two alternates in case they once played for a team that's being judged. There is no way getting around this Goodell is going to do what he thinks.Just need to keep it as fair as possible

It was clean, just unnecessarily hard. And it's not like that is the only time he did anything like that during that game...Not to mention his career

So not only did the NFL not suspend these players, they fined them. Which benefits them. Then they took advantage of the situation at expense of our player and sold pictures, unreasonably high too. I think it is just kind of a smack in the face to the players that got hit after the defenders were not suspended. And I also just think it is wrong that the NFL would sell pictures of illegal shots, it is almost as if it is promoting them (I know they aren't but it just almost seems like it)

Mort just said they aren't going to suspend people for devastating legal hits but they will for helmet to helmet or shoulder to helmet.
I agree with that. If it is a hit in the chest and it is a huge hit, that is fair game. But as for these hits to the head that could be avoided, there should be suspensions. It is the only way that these guys will stop doing it.

Yeah, it is insulting to Todd Heap. He will probably have permanant damage from that hit by Meriweather and all Meriweather has to do is pay 50K...

If not now, then perhaps in the near future. Funny, these are WR's (usually on the receiving end of the big hit) who are mocking it.

I'm just gonna end up posting this video all over the boards, hahah - LINK

What the NFL is asking for, laid out for the players, themselves.

Some players and former players are saying that this will keep fans from going to the game, or liking the NFL as much?
What do you guys think?
I know I rather see teams healthy, especially mine. That way the starters (who are most likely to get hit) who are usually funner to watch, have the opportunity to make plays. Players can still hit hard, there is just a right way to do it. I'm sure some players will hesitate now, but I'm sure soon it will become second nature to hit right.

At first I thought the pink was to market NFL gear to women... now they're told they can't hit hard... Goodell is feminizing the NFL!
