Le'ron Angry With Baltimore Fans

83 posts in this topic

All the negative posts on this thread is a testament to all the nonsense NFL players have to deal with.
It's not McClain's fault he has crazy people following him on Twitter.
It's not his fault those fans have no idea how the game is played.
McClain has every right to say what he wants on Twitter, unless of course he is giving away secrets the Ravens would rather him keep, which is even silly to say, when Twitter is far removed from football.
Anyone hating on McClain has no idea what he puts up with, whether Twitter or from the Ravens.
He wants to be a RB in this league, and we are keeping him from doing so.
He's great at blocking, but you won't see that on a highlight reel.
With the athletic ability and power he has, he shouldn't be used just to be a blocker in the NFL.
He doesn't hate the fans of Bmore, so if anyone is taking it personally, or just starting a thread for controversy, rethink your intentions.
The internet allows people a sense of entitlement, when in person they would otherwise think twice about the things they say.

I follow McClain on Twitter, and I have no problem with what he said. I saw all of it. And I'll still stand up for him.

OK so this one person didn't cost us the game but this other person did.....

We lost as a team.
Where in my statement do I say "this other person" cost us the game? Play calling is the coaches, execution is the players. To me that says team.

Many children look up to the players as role models. That kind of post is inexcusable. Rather than trade McGahee, who sat quietly on the bench all game, they should look into trading McClain. I'm sure that someone will give us a 3rd or 4th round pick for him. I've lost all respect for him now.
What are you even talking about? Trade McClain because he is not a good role model for kids! Are you serious? He made a bad play at a bad time but he is not a bad player at all. He tweets, what he tweets and it goes out to whom ever is a follower of his. Football players can be Role Models for kids if they choose to be one but must football players are just asnormal or abnormal as anyone else. Your star status or job does not make you a role model, how you live your life does. Lawrence Taylor is one of the greatest football player to play in the NFL but he has never been the type of person that you would want you kids to look up to as a role model. As a great football player yes, role model NO!

Athletes arent role models.... It's not in the job description. They do have a certain conduct policy they must follow but they dont have to be good people or even inteligent.

People kill me with that role model stuff. A lot of times Mommy and Daddy do not even qualify to be role models.

He needs to suck it up and lose the personal agenda, the team and the season come first. Every game counts and we can't afford to have anyone jeopardise that by retaliating.

I don't think anyone really blamed the game on McClain; I'm sure there were some people who did, but it definitely wasn't the consensus.

He was acting up being a fool. His a pro-bowler. He should know better than to make a penalty in such critical moment and let his temper get the best of him. I have no-idea what that rant was about him telling b-more fans to f-off. This whole hysteria came after he started twitting.

This is why athletes should not have twitter/facebook/access to the internet to rant....

With a stellar defense, every time we have 10pt lead we should win that game. Especially, we have all the weapons on the offense which can eventually exceed our lead more than 10pts, and we refused to do it. Subsequently, we decided to play conservatively against one of the best offense in the league. Wow, are we showing mercy to the Pats? thanks to Cam...

About Le'ron's personal foul in OT, it's costly but that didn't cost us the game if we (Cam) smartly put all our weapons on the field when we have less than 1min in the 4th to score a winning field goal, then we wouldn't have gone OT.
You talk about our 'stellar' defense. What defense are you talking about? The one that forced two turnovers ALL season? The 16th ranked rushing D, that allows over 100 yards/game? Or the 9th ranked passing D, that allows over 175 yards/game?
We no longer have a 'stellar' defense. We used to stuff people at the line for a loss of yards. How many times has that actually happened this year?
I blame the defense for the loss to New England. There is no reason why our team can be up 10 points in the 4th quarter and you blow that lead. While Cam didn't have great play calling in the 2nd half, he put enough points on the board for a win.
As for McClain, I never heard one person say it was his fault. I almost think he had a guilty conscience.

I don't care who it is that makes a bonehead penalty like McClain's. That is the sort of thing that just can't happen in a close game like that.

Why is it when we win, it's a team effort, but when we lose...
Agreed. Win as a team, lose as a team.

I know you're not going to try to justify a player telling his team's fans to go f themselves, or f them or whatever the exact phrase was, right? Right?

I can just see it now....my son comes home from his middle school football game, angry after a loss where he shoved another player...and I console my son by telling him, "its okay johnnyboy, if anyone has a problem with your flagarant penalty, just tell them to <step> off!"

He's a good full back, but I don't think he gives a crap what we think over here. Well, unless we're promoting his McClain4RB campaign.

We're good enough to promote his campaign for running back but can't say he did something stupid.

He should be flattered we expected better from him. If it had been Frank Walker with a PI penalty, for example, we wouldn't have been surprised ;)

HA. We forced two turnovers in the last game!

Anyways, other than that error, I agree with most of what you're saying. The defense is good, just not as great as we have become accustomed to.

As a fan of a rival AFC team I do have to say I agree with your insight into your defense. It is not the Ravens D I remember. Something has changed over the last couple years and I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's a split between older and younger players but I see guys standing around and looking at each other as if to place some blame. I hope you guys can get it together because I love our rivalry and how it always comes down to you or us. But unless something changes I just don't see you guys being there in the end. Sorry to be a stick in the mud!

No you're right.

I think it's a combination of a relatively new coordinator, our makeshift secondary (without Reed/Foxworth), and our lack of pass-rushers. Outside of Terrell Suggs and Haloti Ngata, in the interior, we really don't have anyone who can demand a double-team on a third down.

We don't have the luxury of having an elite Woodley and Harrison on the outside.. I need to take a shower, now, I feel wrong..

Well Berad I'm pulling for you guys to get it together. I want a battle all the way down to the wire. That makes the season exciting. Because without the Ravens whos left in the AFC North?

You will never catch me rooting for the steelers, unless they are knocking the Bengals or Browns out of the playoffs when they have already been eliminated...lol

McClain didn't give up 20 points to New England in 4 quarters. McClain didn't cost us a 10-point lead and it wasn't him who couldn't do anything on offense. Even if the flag was avoidable - every gain New England made, every loss of opportunity on our side, those were all avoidable too. You only blame McClain because it happened at the end of the game. How near-sighted.
If you actually read my post that you quoted I said very clearly that it was NOT his fault. <no personal attacks>

How ignorant.

Is that better?
