BFFs???

Let's not go crazy here.

It seems that Joe Cool and Matty Ice will always be linked... I'd say Joe has the edge at the moment, mainly due to his playoff success (their career numbers are pretty much identical). It's going to be a very tough game against another former Ravens coach.
I won't get into who has what edge. We should both be happy we are not unsettled at that position because there are many teams that would give their first born for either qb.

It should be tough. Regardless of who wins it won't be considered an upset.
Anyway - as far as impact - other than record - this game has the least impact on both teams - since we are not in the same Division or Conference - but I think it's going to be played hard for the full 60. I hope so. I'll be there and hope some of you guys get the chance to come into the Dome and see the game.
Depends on if it comes down to the games in common tie breaker. The crazy way this season has already played out across the NFL it might just come down to that.

At least two people from the AtlantaFalcons.com message board has said that the Falcons defense needs to hit Flacco and he will get flustered.
Ed Reed is sick! The guy is a true ball hawk. Matt Ryan needs to put allot of velocity on all his throws Thursday so Reed doesnt have time to make a play on the ball. I'm sure we will have allot of decoy deep routes to take Reed out of plays... It should be a good game but were pretty darn good in the Dome so I hope we pull away with this one. The key is to hit Flacco, the guy gets really flustered and WILL make mistakes if you put a few good licks on him.
I guess they don't know Flacco like they think they do. He doesn't get flustered and scared or whatever when hit and pressured. His nickname isn't Joe Cool for nothing. I don't feel like registering and posting. Maybe someone here will lol

I've been on their boards a little and the fans generally they really respect the Ravens and are concerned about this game. I think for us to win we really need to make sure Flacco and the offense can deliver under pressure. Our D should be okay, but I would reduce the amount of time we rush 3 men on...

I was posting there, it takes all of 2 seconds to register. If you don't want to I'll be sure to mention "Joe Cool." :)

Thats not different than any QB though, the goal is to hit the QB, confuse, pressure and force him to make mistakes. Thats no different than what we'll try to do to Ryan. Most Falcons fans are pretty down to earth, they realize that we have similarities as a team both with young developing QBs and that both teams are good.

I was generally pleased with the Falcons fans over there until one of them called Ray Lewis a murderer. <_<

They are most likely going to attack Redding in the run game. We should have Ngata and Suggs beside eachother on the rush side and load up on the opposite side to help Redding. I'd like to see some of the big boys substituted because we know the Falcons are going to bring their heavy run game. Good thing is the Ravens shut down these type of backs and Turner does not have the burst that Brown does.

That's a given, though. Every teams fan base will say that at some point at least once leading up to the game. Same as how many on here talk about Roethlisbergers issues....

Any QB who takes a lot of hits gets "antsy" in the pocket, that's nothing new. Joe seems to shake off hits and sticks his nose in there and actually is one of the best at staying pat in the pocket and absorbing those hits while making good throws.

Right. The 'cool' or 'ice' comes from shaking it off and going right back to work on the next snap.

Don't lump us all in the same group. We have some real numbskulls that post on our board. 3 years later some people still think we did vick dirty somehow and they take delight whenever Ryan throws an interception.

Oldfalcon here..I am just stopping by to have some friendly Football talk and a little smack to..lol.I don`t see how you think that your team is so good that it will come in and blow us away when we are 20-1 at home since 2008.You need to stck with the close prediction,if you win at all:)Ask the Saints how their Voodoo Doll worked on us:)I am hoping for a great game, with a Falcons victory and both teams come out healthy!
Sort of true but the Dolphins were undefeated on the road this year and ask them how their luck was yesterday. Maybe the Falcons will be 20-2 after Thursday that's still a pretty good record. You're just lucky that you didn't have to come to Bmore to play us at home, but we are great on the road as well at home so I'm in my comfort zone. It may not be a blow out game or it may be with Ed Reed in there and if Josh Wilson in there Matt is in trouble.

I couldn't find their message board... I found their official site kindof hard to navigate. I did post at the Bills site though, and tried to empathize with them.

Oh no, I'm not: 19/20 of the people there are great, but yeah there are idiots in every fan base, it's just a fact.

True. I do think it will be a bit more quiet this week. In our last 2 games Ocho sent our secondary t-shirts and Morris declared the bucs to be the best in the NFC. I don't recall the Ravens ever doing the message board material thing and the Falcons certainly do not.

That is the general consensus. They stick around to troll the board because they think we did him wrong.

Vick did HIMSELF wrong. Good to see you on here, Finally. I always love it when a class act opposing fan joins the forum.

Thanks for the welcome. You guys have been prety classy yourselves. It is nice to visit a place that is not in doom and gloom mode but also not proclaiming they are the greatest.

Finally, I was banned from the Atlanta Falcons main board last year for letting some of the people the likes of what you mentioned get under my skin.I was defending Matt Ryan and Mike Smith after the Philly game that is all.You and I both know there are true Falcon fans and that bunch of Vick fans that just won`t go away..lol.They come out after every loss and try and blame Ryan if they can...lol.I joined another Falcon board where the folks are more mature, know their football and love the Falcons:)

The way our run defense has been "playing", I would love to have Michael Turner on my fantasy team.....

I'm not so much concerned about Ryan/Hot Rod as I am Turner. We usually do a great job containing the marquee WRs, but what the hell has happened to our run defense??As a side note, I have both Flacco and Ryan on one of my fantasy teams. Starting Flacco this week, I think he'll have better stats than Ryan, but the key to us winning this game will be shutting down Turner. If we do that, we win. If we don't, we come home crying.

That's usually how Thursday night games work. If you don't have it, you don't get it.
Typically, if your team is on NFL Network, a local network will simulcast the game. Here in Atlanta the local NBC affiliate is playing it for those without NFL network. Same goes for MNF now that it's on ESPN...
