Passing Game?

16 posts in this topic

Can someone explain to me what happens to the passing game as the game progresses?

It seems like with every quarter ending all of a sudden we can't move the ball throwing, im not just talking about this game even last week Joe goes 10 of 13 or whatever and all of a sudden 7-8 in completions straight.

Who do you blame for this mess Joe, Cam, or WR's....... let me rephrase what the hell happens that makes us incapable of moving the ball.

We have the talent and we drive 2-3 long 80 yarders during the early part of the game and then all of a sudden we can't even go 40-50 yards when it matters.

Also great job Ray Rice constantly getting the tough yards.

Cam Cameron needs to get lost. He's driving a Ferrari like a Ford Taurus. Enough. Flacco has greatness within him. Cameron is a plow-horse driver. Lose him.

Did Cam run a single screen today?

2 screens to start the opening drive. Numerous check downs to rice.

Im gonna have to agree with you there, If you look at our guys man to man i can honestly say we beat everyone on that Defense Man to Man. Play-Calling has to be better. It was sad looking at T.J shaking his head when Flacco couldn't make that 1 yard conversion. But you could say the same about flacco on that play he should have called an audible or called a Time-out.

I can live with check-downs on 1st and 2nd down but someone should have got to Joe and told him to go down-field more and Cam should have got Dickson and/or Houshmandzadeh more involved.

I am not sure he is "allowed" to call audibles, is he? Yeah I have to agree, I cannot say we would win more or less but the play has got to start being more aggressive, or we end up with a mediocre record.

One would think in his third year, he can recognize what might work against a defensive lineup. And if he sees that formation at the line, he should be able to audible out. Joe is just as important to the gameplan as is Cam calling up what plays to run.

Zone coverage is confusing Flacco. Teams are picking it up.

ok....let's see who are WRs and TEs for an aerial attack are shall we:

Mason, Boldin, Housh, Reed, Heap, Dickson, Pitta

sooooo, with all of these cats on board you mean to tell me that we can't spread out defenses and take shots down the field but can only do the dinking and dunking checkdown crap? EVERY SINGLE GAME???????????

IT'S A DAMN SHAME!!!

when will the Ravens take the reigns off of our WRs and let them make plays down the field?

Joe doesn't play well against zone coverage because he's afraid to make mistakes. I think that Bengals game really enforced that as well so he doesn't make tight throws to his receivers if they're well guarded. You can blame this on multiple things. Maybe Joe has butterflies in his stomach when the score is close. Maybe Cam Cameron/Jim Zorn are telling him to not make any mistakes.

Thing is..Joe can no longer be the game manager he was his rookie year. He can step up. Take the damn training wheels of him. Look what happened with Mark Sanchez after the MNF game against us. He's played at a high level since they opened up the passing game. Do a 3 WR set and pass to one of your probowl receivers. One of them is bound to be open and make a catch.
