Why Does Cam Call The Dumbest Plays On 3rd & Short?

Damn, Harb needs to step in and at least make changes like allowing Joe reading the defense and calling the play. At least, try to do audibles next week against the Bills, so we'll see how effective Joe is.

My head is going to explode when we are in the progress of putting pieces together and yet to make it right.

We lost when Gostowski kicked the game winner dont blame the play calling too much(although i get frustrated about it as well)

Btw: Mason C'mon man catch that TD Flacco put it in the perfect place and he short armed it due to the hit...the earlier shot he took probably influenced that drop.

That was a huge play. A TD there wouldn't have guaranteed anything but I have a feeling the Ravens would have won had they made the score 24-10 there.

I agree and then I don't lol.

I don't think we are utilizing our team to the fullest potential. We have 2 tight ends that can catch and run after the catch. Our receivers possess good route running and can also get some good YAC. I think when we get Stallworth and when we head into our bye, this team is going to examine what went right in the beginning of this season and what didn't.

Still, I think with the team we have, we have to be aggressive and not conservative.

Then Billick fired his friend, and took over the OC role and balled out in 06 like we hadnt seen

I just can't stand by Cam anymore. at first I wondered why everyone blamed the play calling, but it just became obvious to me this year that he's making terrible calls. Harbs not going for it was pretty dumb, but I think the QB sneak failure was even worse. and all the small throws to Ray were... why? why do that? Rice wasn't breaking anything all game.

If that's the case, then he's the guy who, after Philip Rivers passed for over 400 yards against the Ravens, chose to run the ball on 4th and 2.

We have a top 10 WR, two savvy veterans in Mason and Housh, and outstanding recieving TE's in Heap, Dickson and Pitta, but we check down.

Does he use his brain out there calling plays? Why can't Joe audible? Damn man this too frustrating. I've never been outspoken with this offense because I'm patient, but this isn't even about individual players. Cam is holding us back

I agree 100%. I loved what he did in Flacco's rookie year. 2009 was so-so. I thought our average record was to due to a lack of playmakers. Now I just don't know what to think or say. I'm glad we're 4-2, don't get me wrong, but I'm afraid that winning the rest of these games will only mask the point that Cam sucks this year. Sure, handing it to Rice 20+ games is perfect, but we need to let Flacco loose and make the best calls in the situations that dictate them.

Just get the ball to our playmakers and make sure that they're all on the field when we need them the most. That's all I ask. I'm not seeing that so far

Lol I know right, its not like we're calling for 4 or even 5 WR sets. Just 3! It is soo common in the NFL. Why not us? We don't need multiple backs and tight ends.
And @ the 6 catches out of 21 targets, how many yards has he gained for our offense just by drawing PI calls. Those are just as important as a catch outside of the end zone

Norv had aikman, Irvin, and smith dominating the league in the 90's, there's no reason why he couldn't do the same with flacco, rice, and boldin. Your judging the man on one play call. Go check chargers offensive numbers they are always one of the most high powered offenses in the league. You equate one playcall to him not being a good oc, the man's offensive resume is second to none.

As much as it pains me to say, I can't see us winning a Superbowl with Cam as our OC. Now I'd love to be proven wrong, but I just can't see it happening.

Until he realizes we replaced D-Will and Clayton with Boldin and Housh, our offense will continue to suffer.
