Why Does Cam Call The Dumbest Plays On 3rd & Short?

the one play that still piss me off was the qb sneak. We have a pro-bowl FB why wont we give him the ball to get 1st down..

Cam is certainty at fault here, but lets not forget Joe was the one in front of the d-line. You're telling me he couldn't see those big guys lining right in front of him?

He is allowed to change the play if it becomes that obvious to the defense.....

Cam doesnt want Joe changing the plays, or atleast that is what I got from his "audibles are overrated" interview.

If he can't change the play, than call a timeout. I know his stats look great, but that was a crippling decision...

Belicheck outcoached Cam Cameron. Period. When they were rushing only 3 for the last 30 offensive plays. Cameron should have ran the draw from the shotgun, and there would've been a bunch of room for Rice

Its not what Cam wants. So either he is protecting Flacco who doesn't know how to audible or he wants the play he called regardless of the situation.

We needed Willis today..change it up a bit; Cam needs to mix it up and get over his mancrush for Rice.

You're making too much of it. Cam called it, they ran it, obviously they thought it could work. The more worrying trend is the series of games with questionable adjustments and general strategy. Too conservative, too early in the game.

I don't agree with all of Cams calls, but lets not play Monday Morning Quarterback. Cam has no idea what the defense is going to end up doing. He obviously didn't have the luxury of knowing that they were only going to blitz 3/30 times to end the game. If he did, I bet he would have run draws.

I agree. I see some plays where a lot of times a QB will call an audible out of the blitz. But then he sticks with the original play and it gets beat.

we did get outcoached. it was in the 4th quarter that we blew up. all the short throws to Rice were SO stupid. why did we not stretch the field? and running on 2nd down after an incompletion? give me a break

Joe did well with what [i]<crappy>[/i] plays he was given. this is without a doubt a loss we can blame on Cam.

You didn't see one blitz from NE after the halfway mark in the 4th quarter. Belicheck made adjustments, but Cam Cameron didn't

That's an exaggeration, but I agree that the decision to sneak Flacco on 3rd and 1 was awful.

I'd love to have Billick back as an OC. He doesn't really have a past history with that many of the offensive players so there won't be any favoritism.(McGahee and Mason?) He did have the 2nd best offense in the history of the NFL when he was the Vikings O-Coord. If Cam keeps calling bad plays it would definitely be an option. But please of all things do NOT promote Zorn to OC.

Ran two to TJ and one to Rice out of the backfield...pretty sweet that TJs only 2 targets today were WR screens....Cameron is getting under my skin, if TJ goes off in the media this week I wont be surprised or hold it against him.

Neither would I. Protection was an issue at times but how hard would some three-step drops and slant throws to T.J. or Q have been in OT?

At least if you're gonna do that go for it on 4th. The offense got way to conservative and Flacco started to play that way as well. Why get all these new weapons and not use em. He consistently checked down to Ray Rice on 3rd down and didnt even try to throw for 1st downs. I'm also tired of seeing some of our really good drives end up in field goals, we had a drive go 15 plays 81yds and 3pts and another go 13 plays 84yds and 3pts again. Gotta cash in for 6 on those. We LET the Patriots take this one and that is frustrating!!

Cam went totally JV in the 4th quarter and OT...it was like my sister was calling the plays.

There were a number of times when the WRs were well-covered(as evidenced by Joe looking around when he had time) but I clearly remember a play where Joe rolled to his left and had Q with some decent separation between two defenders. I don't know why he didn't release the ball but it's something he'll learn from.
