Pitt loses, Tb lost the other night bad. We have a rested home game to make up ground and we fail.
Trade Semin and Backstrom to TB for their GM Yzerman, their former superstar. and sign Wayne Gretzky out of retirement as well as Petr Bondra. Then we might win.

Ahh, then they played admirably then, only letting up 9 goals.
Who was goalie?
No team can ever let in 9 goals admirably, like I said in the previous post, it was a brutal game. Any team can win any game in today's league, no easy games any more.

Boudreau is 0-4 against the Kings.

To give you guys an idea of how low the Isles were getting last night 3 of their players are having league hearings to see if/how long they will be getting suspended. Before I see any stupid why isn't Pittsburgh getting disciplined comments it's because they weren't taking cheapshots and sucker punching people. Godard is the only Pen getting suspended and that was because he hopped the bench to protect the goalie, so he is fully deserving.

I just enjoy watching a team on the level on an AHL team punking the big bad Penguins. Its getting them noticed for sure.

That's a sweet stat. Too bad they bested us when it mattered the most a couple years back.

Wow I didn't think it was that lopsided in the last meetings. Penguins are the Captials playoff kyptonite.

The Isles would be hurt you calling them AHL talent. No AHL team would come close to any NHL team, the gap in talent level is too much. The Isles have a nice core group of players in Tavares, Grabner, Okposo, Streit, along with two great goaltenders. The Isles have been rebuilding in years past and they are starting to get that core and everything they need to make a great team. It doesn't help them that they also play in one of the hardest divisions in hockey.

And to think I use to be a huge Isles fan when I lived on Long Island as a kid. Pierre Tuergon, Uwe Krupp. Those were fond memories. I have like 200 autographs from those Isles 92-95 teams. Worthless for the most part.

Damn those 93 Isles! I use to love the late 90's jerseys they had.

Haha, Dude I still have the 'Gordon fish stick guy' Jersey in my closet right next to me. I have the home color though. I love that Jersey. Too bad it has a stain on it.

That 93 team was my favorite. Glenn Healy lived right down the street from me, he'd come out sometimes and play street hockey with us. My favorite player was Benoit Hogue. A Canadian, go figure.

Its funny because I use to loathe the Capitals because of the hit Dale Hunter put on Pierre Turgeon. And now I find my self on the opposite side of the spectrum since I live in the Metro DC area.

That was the ultimate cheapshot, I still kind of chuckle when I see it though. As much of an idiot Glenn Healy is as an analyst I'm jealous you got to play road hockey with him. It's funny you're on the Caps side of the fence now.

Did you ever meet Bryan Trottier, that dude was a beast.

My Older Brother did, but I didn't. I just miseed out on meeting him. We moved to Long Island in 1991 and moved out in 1995. He left the team after that season.

We use to have season tickets through my Dad's connections at the Coliseum so we got to go to the autograph signing sessions every year and skate on the ice with some of the players.

I'm not sure if that's how all teams treat their season ticket holders, but that was pretty sweet.

My next door neighbor is from NY and was a huge Islanders fan. He has a stick signed by every one of the players on the team from one year in the early 90s. It's very cool.

See I was an Islanders fan then in 1995 we moved to Europe where I became a big basketball fan. I lost my love for Hockey and it didn't really return until I started going to Cap Games about 7 years ago. Even then my interest was low, then the Caps really brought me back when they had that rush to the playoffs three years ago.

Sane with me. I went to a Caps game against the bruins probably 7-8 years ago, had no clue about hockey. I think we won like 6-4 or something lol and it got me interested.

If i am correct that was an elimination game for the Caps and Hunter hit him late after scoring and Hunter was pelted with every food and drink item that was sold in the Nassau County Coliseum as he skated off. The Patrick Division rivalries were the good ole days!!!

Bruins got themselves a keeper in Kaberle. Going to be scary to see Kabs feed the big over to big Zdeno Chara on the powerplay.

Disregarding this site, its a very true rumor that Thomas V could be on the trading block. Caps do make a lot of sense. He's got a hefty contract and they probably want to get something for him before its too late.

Stars trade Neal and Niskanen to Penguins for Goligoski
The Dallas Stars have traded forward James Neal and defenceman Matt Niskanen to the Pittsburgh Penguins for defenceman Alex Goligoski.

Neal has 21 goals and 39 points in 59 games for the Stars this season. He was the third-leading goal scorer on the Stars this year, trailing only Brenden Morrow and Brad Richards. Neal, 23, is signed through next season with a cap hit of $2.8 million. He had 27 goals and 28 assists last season.

The 24-year-old Niskanen is signed through next year at $1.5 million. Two years ago he had six goals and 29 assists for Dallas. In 45 games for Dallas this season, he has no goals and six assists.
Full Story

I think the Pens pulled out a great trade there. Neal can pile up 30+ goals in that Pens lineup while Goligoski was good but not necessarily needed with the emergence of Martin. I believe that it's a trade that satisfies both parties given the Pens' offense injury woes and the Stars' recent defensive struggles.
