Good to see the Pens stay with the system and can still play with the best of them. Playing the Kings right now and only allowed 2 shots in the 2nd period. If we can stay around .500 without Geno and Crosby I'll be happy.

Come on Kings. I see its tied right now.

I also see on NHL.com that Crosby "Is confident he'll play again." Even though those words sound positive, they also sound very worrisome.

He was referring to returning this year, he'll be fine.

I did mean this year. I didn't know there were concerns of him not returning this year.

I hope he comes back okay. I saw that Marc Savards career is likely over after another concussion last month. It seems that hockey concussions are way more serious than NFL cOncussions. Makes you wonder...

They said it wasn't guaranteed he would be back this year, but he is likely to.

That the NFL still takes concussions too lightly? It seems like all other sports when a guy has a concussion he's out for weeks even months. But in the NFL, often times he's back within a week.

Yep. But as I said, Savards had two documented concussions in the last two seasons. His career is probably over. Yet Aaron Rodgers gets two concussions in one season and wins the Super Bowl. I can't understand how it works that way. Some guys have had probably 5-10 concussions in their NFL careers and are still playing.

The speed of hockey creates bigger impacts which likely result in more severe concussions. TO and Ochocinco even stated that in their opinion they both think the NHL has bigger collisions than the NFL, mainly because of the speed.

TV can be really misleading speed wise, in all sports.

Also have to add in that while it is unlikely Savard's career may not be over, Patrice Bergeron who plays on the same team has also had 2 major concussions in his career and he still plays, all be it not as well as he was before the injuries but he came back.

IDK., to me a concussion is a concussion. I am sure there are different levels but its hard for me to believe that the NHL concussions are that much worse.

LA Kings what an unimpressive bunch . A lot of hype around their youth and talent but they're far off being a contender in the NHL. That of course, aside from Doughty who is so smooth with the puck and doesn't shy away from physical contact. No wonder this kid was nominated for Norris last season,he's the real thing. Dare I say, he was their best forward last night too :))

???? They had plenty of chances, I think the reason the Pens came away with that W was because of solid play from Fleury, he made some great saves in OT and in the 3rd. The Kings were no where to be seen in the 2nd though.

Pens got absolutely creamed tonight. On the scoreboard, and in every fight by the Islanders. Very entertaining. Correction: the penguins did win one fight, but it took a double team between the goalie (Johnson) and a Pen that jumped off the bench to take the guy down. What a trainwreck of a game.

Damn , 9 Goals. How do you let 9 goals happen. Its good that they lost, they were starting to get a healthy lead in the 4th spot with 2 games at hand.

San Jose had to play New Jersey tonight and Caps early tomorrow morning. We should cream this one.

It was a disgusting game, almost had a another Bertuzzi incident with some no name chump on the Isles sucker punching Tablot, Tangradi was also jumped after he was hit to the head lol. Secondly, what kind of pro challenges a goalie to a fight, what a joke, I'm glad that Godard jumped in to protect him. How did the Pens get beat up every fight lol, the only one that was a clear loss was when Haley put Talbot down. We had guys fighting who don't normally fight, which says a lot about our team, Dupuis, Talbot, Adams all held their own and they don't normally fight. One thing I thought was funny is when things got down and dirty, the Isles were scared to shed the mits with Engelland, probably didn't want any of this happening.

No Geno, Crosby, Kunitz or Cooke. A back up goaltender in net, 5 AHL eligible players dressed and the Isles wanted revenge because the Penguins embarrassed them last week.

Ahh, then they played admirably then, only letting up 9 goals.
Who was goalie?

Brent Johnson for the first six, then he got put back in for the 9th. To your earlier post we play the LA Kings today, not San Jose

Lol. Ovie scored 1:04 into the game. Come on man! Wife...or hockey?
I just got home from the Mall. I made a mistake and let her go into Forever 21, that was an instant 1 hour lost.

Surprised we aren't seeing Jonathan Quick out there today. Its good news for us. Getting up early on the Kings is a plus.

Ah, Kings scored. Who's in net today?

Varly for us. Varly made a few good saves on that goal and he was down on his butt but there was a juicy rebound that was snapped up high at the crease.

I really miss having CSN. I can't stand not watching their games. If I miss a late season winnings streak, CSN will be getting a nice phone call.

Ugh. Commentators were just saying that this team is missing that "Killer Instinct". That sounds all too familiar.

Great. We were a juggernaut at home last year. Not the case this year.
Its official, we suck. 1 goal at home against their backup goalie.

3-1.

We Suck, we suck, we suck!! WE are well rested at home. Seriously?
