Um...concussions aren't anything to screw around with. Look at what happened to Whinyboy Lindros....and his lil brother for that matter. I for one am glad the Pens are taking long time with Crosby, even though I can't stand him.

I think the loss of Malkin could prove to be their death knell

My opinion of Crosby hit it's low point when he cried to the refs about all the hats on the ice, when Ovi got a hat trick in the playoffs

That sounds fantastic. We'll meet half way? What side of Canada are you in? Very important. Difference between Chicago and Vermont.

Surely you can do better than Bleacher Report... he'll always be Sidney "Crysby" to me. What's taking him so long with this concussion? I'd be concerned if I were you.
I think the reason for holding him out for so long is because they want to take it slow with him so there are no long term effects. The more time he is given to recover the better, like PAR stated I don't want him turning into the next Lindros.

Feaster - Calgary's interim GM said Iginla is untouchable when Flames were second last in their conference. Now that they've gone on a tear , probably they will look to add at deadline instead of selling.
Kesler will win the Selke this season no question about it, but the best defensive forward and two-way forward for that matter in the league is Datsyuk. Because Pavel missed a month he won't get enough votes to win over Kesler especially since Ryan is in for a career year.
Oh and btw, maybe Vancouver can get to the Finals now that this guy is out of the conference

Ahhh you are right, I totally blanked on remembering that Sutter stepped down as GM and Feaster stepped in. Like I said hopes and dreams ha, but it would be unbelievable. Pavel Datsyuk is a crazy skilled player and I would agree with you that he is the best two way forward in the game, he usually always leads the league in takeaways, not to mention he only gets about 8 penalties a year lol.

I know recently I saw that the Senators have said that they would trade anyone but Alfy and Karlson, I'd love to see the Pens make a push for Fisher if the price wasn't so high(IMO a first rounder and a prospect is quite a bit). Fisher is one of my favourite players on the Sens and has everything we need and look for in players, scoring depth, plays hard, has character, right handed shot, very versatile. I've been a fan of his for a number of years now.

So I just saw one of the better goals this year scored on us. Rick Nash got the puck in his own end, between the blue line and circles, fired a saucer pass about 30 feet in the air to send one of his guys on a breakaway to score. It was shot so high that the first bounce was on the other side of the Pens blue line. Such a sweet play.

That's the asking price and doesn't have anything to do with the return Fisher could probably fetch, in fact I'm quite sure Ottawa would be happy with a good prospect who can crack their lineup next season and a 2nd. They need to clean the house IMO, I know a lot has to do with Clouston but with this core Ottawa changed 3 coaches in 4 years. Players need to be held accountable at some point. Anyway,Fisher has been sub-par and by that , I'm not talking about his offensive numbers but about his play away from the puck ,he just doesn't play with the same energy this season . People rightfully speculated that he may be injured though.
Add to the list of Fisher qualities that he has a hot wife. :))
Tampa sucks the life out of people with that trap system. Boucher seems smart and classy though, why can't Ottawa or Washington hire a guy like that?

Watching Lindros play after he left the Flyers was very sad.I mean, he did have one decent season with the Rangers but after that when he went to Toronto then Dallas at the very end of his career he wasn't even a shell of what he once was. But you are absolutely right, when people talk about what concussions can do to someone's career in any sport I always think of Lindros. As good as guys like Ovechkin and Crosby are, I've never since seen a player who could just absolutely dominate anyone on the ice like Lindros once could. And yes he was a whinyboy lol

Lindros' first 6 years of his career were without question HOF material. He did everything, grinded in the corners, scored off the boards/cycle, scored off the rush, laid dudes out, fought. Big, strong and fast ,he was like Gordie Howe light(try not to understate the light part of that lol, there will never be another Gordie). Then Scott Stevens, the guardian of the trolly tracks, the executioner of careers destroyed Lindros in that playoff game when Lindros came back from a slight concussions and Lindros was never the same.

While I do like Scott Stevens I thought it was pretty low of him to take all those cheap shots at Lindros, very few of those hits he laid on Lindros were clean, most of the others he was headhunting wiht his elbow, which is beyond dirty.

This is the reason why I think Stevens always had it out for Lindros - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cugIjRgoiSg

Lindros just pummels him.

EDIT - Does anyone remember when Lindros fought Thornton and broke his jaw?

Matt Cooke's dirty ... Got suspended for his hit last night. Well deserved.

He's one of those Hines Ward type of guys, you'd love to have him on your team and you hate to play against him. He is one of the best pests in the league and does his job well.

We did have him on our team lol. Hendricks did a great job of peeving off the Penguins on Sunday as well. Hendricks has proven he can score goals and antagonize other teams. Hes a guy I really like for our team.

We did have him on our team and I hated the guy with a passion. Just a dirty punk. Glad we decided on not bringing him back. He still harbors resentments towards us.

Best Pest would have to be Sean Avery. Everything about him is annoying.

agreed, the only aspect i dont like about cook is that he never really fought, to me if ur gonna b a pest u gotta drop the gloves now and again, sean avery is the same way, i like a pest to have the total package, when cooke played for the nux i thought the exact same thing, love to play with him hate to play against him. i think he may differ from avery in that aspect tho, averys team mates probably hate him hahaha

Just his face, I'd love to get a nice right hook in there lol. I'll be one of those one day signings just to knock his teeth out and retire. BD-1 Cookie-0

For a 1st round pick and Ottawa enters re-building mode. Nashville got a good two-way player and a tons of possibilities to market the team ,as you know Fisher is a big name in that area because of his wife.
Definitely the Montreal @ Boston game last night was one of the best this season. Lots of goals and fights, Montreal players got what they deserved, they really are a bunch of dwarfs with big mouths.

I'm surprised the Pens didn't jump all over that for them shipping him out for a 1st only, he really is a great player. He must have asked to go to them because of his wife and the area like you said.

I dislike the Habs as well, team of divers and little runts. Max Lapiere is probably my most hated player in the league, now he has a face that you just want to punch. Price and Thomas embarrassed themselves with that goalie play fight.

Good to see the Pens stay with the system and can still play with the best of them. Playing the Kings right now and only allowed 2 shots in the 2nd period. If we can stay around .500 without Geno and Crosby I'll be happy.
