Pens are going to rough up the Bolts, they won't know what hit them, they don't have the experience. I'm actually glad they didn't win the division, I'd rather see them play the Lightning than the Sabres any day.

Anyone want to have a fun bet with me, there will not be one sweep in the first round.

Rangers in 7
Flyers in 6
Penguins in 5
Boston in 6

Canucks in 6
Sharks in 7
Wings in 5
Ducks in 6

Experience and intensity rules come playoff time.

Yeah regular season they did pretty well against the Caps. But the playoffs are a whole new slate. Doesn't mean it will happen again.

Is that guy Paciorrety gonna be back yet, I haven't heard.

He fractured a couple vertebrae in his neck. I highly doubt it.

important to who? nux fans want to face the hawks, the players maintain that they do as well, plus if luongo craps the bed schneider will come in, im not worried about the hawks, i hope dallas loses so we face them and exercise the demon so to speak
[/quote]

I know man, I'm with you right there. The last two seasons have been heartbreaking with Luo's blunders and Byfuglien's continuous goalie interferences.

While deep inside I want us to face the Blackhawks and beat them ('cause we will this year), it will be a tougher series than one against the Stars. We've had the Stars' number all year long and that way we'd be able to be fresh against Anaheim/Nashville.

My predictions:

West:
Nucks in 6
Preds in 6
Redwings in 5
Sharks in 7

East:
Caps in 7
Pens in 5
B's in 7 (looking forward to this series)
Flyers in 6

Yea I know, not much success during the season. However, I think this is good for us. This will mean we will take the Rags seriously, unlike we did to the Habs last year...

Haha you know I had to.

I was right about the Pens getting physical with the Bolts, they were hitting and intense from start to finish.

90 seconds into game 1, Orpik welcomes Stamkos to the NHL playoffs

The Atlanta Thrashers or now just Thrashers are officially moving to canada and bringing a NHL team back to Winnipeg.

Sucks for ATL, great for Canada? lol

I don't know why Baltimore cant be considered for a team, but whatever.

Great, so Winnipeg is going to be in the Southeast for at least a year, which means long flights for the Caps to a division opponent...Baltimore will probably never be considered for a hockey team. Considering the growing popularity of the Caps in Baltimore, and the developing relationship between the city and the Caps, it won't happen.

Should the Board of Governors approve of the proposed move by the Thrashers to Winnipeg, would the name "Jets" be revived for this franchise?

I welcome your input.

I think that they should be called the "Jets" again...It will be great for that region because it will rekindle the old heated rivalry with Calgary,Edmonton and Vancouver. i am kinda surprised that the NHL lasted as long as it did in ATL.

The question remains: where will Phoenix go, assuming they can't work out their own issues.

I read today where the Coyotes will receive a $25 million dollar subsidy from Glendale,AZ officials to stay until local ownership can be found so they may not go anywhere.

I don't know, this whole situation goes back a pretty long while, and I think it would have been figured out by now, you know? I think Quebec City would be a prime destination, possibly even a wild card city somewhere in the northeast.

I say send Coyotes to London. Just make NHL even more international.

I seriously doubt that will happen haha

If Quebec City were their destination, then from what I understand, there is a copyright issue over the name "Nordiques". I have to believe a newer name would be "Les Nationales du Quebec", or even "Les Quebecois".

That would be a good choice but i am not sure about the arena situation...i beleive they played at the "Le Colisee" if my french is correct...do not know what the condition of that building is and i forgot why the Nordiques moved to Denver in the first place,it's been a long time.

From what I recall of the situation at the time, the Nordiques were trying to deal with a lousy exchange rate of U.S. to Canadian dollars, for NHL teams in Canada take in Canadian currency, but pay their players in American currency.

Another facet of the situation was that the soverignty movement in Quebec were holding a referendum on the subject of independence for "La Belle Province". Had the vote gone in a "Yes" motion, then the Nordiques would have considered themselves in deep trouble.

So I was debating on getting some season tickets for Winnipeg... I was shunned in 4 minutes, unbelievable. I'm just hoping they can get the Jets name from the NHL.

Steven Stamkos signed 5 year 37 million deal with Tb lightning.

Regardless of how long it took and the rumors flying, he was never leaving Tampa.

i bet the guys LOVE the anonymity down there. when the team is paying well, like the lightning did, there is probably no better situation for them

The funny thing is, during the playoffs this year there was a sizable amount of the TB population that didn't even know they still had a hockey team. Then, the hockey "fan" population grew.
