Pens agree with suspension: Cooke apologizes

I didn't see the hit, but he is a repeat offender. I guess that's one difference between this hit and Chara's hit (which I still feel Chara should have been punished for in some fashion).

And on a happier note, my Flyers have clinched the Atlantic Division....and they're not that far from 100 points. :D :wootwoot: two more games against the Pens this month .. I don't truly care if the Flyers lose first place in the conference. I do however hope they can keep hold of first place in the division.
You are getting ahead of yourself woman :), they have clinched a playoff spot, they are far from clinching the division. The Penguins still have 18 potential points still left on the board. Although they are close it's not clinched yet.

Honestly about Cooke I really don't think he has gotten much worse, it's just the league in the last few years is looking to eliminate head-shots, so all these hits are under the microscope which makes the players throwing the hits look that much dirtier.

with 10 games left and and one point games, plus phi has 2 in hand, id say baring a minor miracle the flyers have got there div, plus the pens r 2 wins back, and they have 6 wins in the shootout, which essentially counts against ur win total if the 2 end up tied, but it is possible, just not likey that the pens win the div

Wow...Bob is a wall right now...holy cow....
Penguins turned up the heat, they have really impressed me without Crosby and Geno, not even giving up a spot in the standings since they've been hurt. Bobrovsky was playing pretty good tonight, great overall game. Pens are only 4 points back!

No need to remind me. *hrmph*

But yeah I am impressed with the Pens, much as it pains me to say it.

But still, the game would have been lop-sided if not for Bob.

The Flyers are definitely hurting without Pronger, I'm glad that they managed to steal a point in these last two games but in the playoffs that just won't do. I am also pleased to see Bob bounce back with a strong performance after being pulled against the Caps. The most discouraging thing about the last two games has been that both teams were without their big guns and still outplayed the Flyers who are pretty are only missing Pronger. With the way the Pens have been playing without their top guys has been outstanding and the Flyers are going to have to fight to win the division, should be an interesting next few weeks to say the least!

Hes an agitator because he can score enough goals to be valuable in the league... but he was no angel with the nucks either

That's another one for the Pens, hopefully the Flyers slip up and go on a little skid here.

It's a shame, because since they are now very much in the hunt, I guess Crosby will be back. Not that I hope this happens, but he will be a marked man. Much like Mike Green was in his first game back. Crosby is a soft player and is vulnerable to hitting, which has now been shown. The smart decision would be to sit him for the rest of the year if you want to preserve your franchise player. Guess not?

he had an awfully bad concussion, i dont expect him to last too long now, once u get one ur risk of another is much greater, but he could play another 15 years without a hitch, who knows, hope for pens fans sake its the later

Or he could end up like Eric Lindros and his brother and be forced to retire early. Even though I don't like the Pens, that's a scenario I pray doesn't happen.

ya i mentioned him not lasting long as a scenario, the only difference between him and lindros would b they would never let crosby get that far, what with all the awareness of concussions, lindros had like 8 concussions, i dont think any player will ever have that happen again, lindros is the poster boy for that

I think you are the only one I have ever heard called Sid 'soft' haha. The kid is anything but soft and battles through more than 95% of what others in the league do, which is why he already has all the accolades a Stanley Cup and Gold Medal. He is far from soft my friend haha.

The change in the Penguins style of play over the last 4-5 years is indicative of that, the Pens used to always be a high scoring high flying offense with average goaltending and defense. Now they are a team who is built physically tough and battles hard all night and stick to a system. They follow the way their captain plays the game, which is why the Pens are one of the hardest teams to play against.

Pens and Caps are starting to get hot at the right time, both teams 8-2 in the last 10. As much as I'd like the Pens to run over the Habs in the first round, it looks like the Lightning will hold onto that 5th seed. Either way I see the Penguins getting physical with whoever they match up with first.

Pacific division is a beast of a division this year, all 5 teams have a legit shot at making the playoffs.

I'll redo my statement lol. I think the perspective of him now would be soft. With his concussions, what do you think people will do? They're gonna hit him hard and often, and beat him down and really test his durability after the devastating concussions.

No doubt about it, there is a big X on his jersey when he comes back, but let's be honest, he's had that X the moment he stepped in and Bettman made him the face of the NHL. Teams go after your best players physically sometimes, it really isn't anything new.

ya that was huge game, and a huge win for them, with a game in hand and 5-6 left, the conference is theirs to lose

haha like i said 24 hours

wins GF GA PP PK F0%
09-10 WSH / 54 / 1st 3.82 / 16th 2.77 / 1st 25.2% / 25th 78.8% / 6th 51.5%

10-11 VAN / 52 / 1st 3.19 / 1st 2.2 / 1st 24.7% / 1st 86.6% / 1st 55.1% *4 Games Left

safe to say the nux r a little more balanced haha

since the inception of the trophy here are the %s of what seed wins the cup, its weird how there is a stigma of a curse, if u compare last years caps and this years nux caps r no where near as good, but they won the trophy but were exposed in the playoffs, judging by those numbers u can c y, caps just basically outscored teams with almost 4 goals for a game, vancouver while not boasting such a high number, is still first in the league, and first in goals against, just a solid all round team. plus come playoff time we will have for the first time all season our entire top 6 dman core, i like our chances, i also like the chances of the caps making to the finals, more so than last year, they r a much better team chemistry wise, and r gelling at the right time too :)

1st: 7 (29.2% - Occupied by Canucks)
2nd: 2 (8.3% - Currently Flyers)
3rd: 3 (12.5% - Capitals)
4th: 4 (16.7% - Sharks)
5th: 2 (8.3% - Red Wings)
6th: 2 (8.3% - Penguins)
7th: 2 (8.3% - Bruins)
8th: 1 (4.2% - Lightning)
9th: 1 (4.2% - Coyotes)

If the Nucks do finish with the best Goals For and Against Averages, it will be the first team to do so since the dominant mid-70's Habs.
