Fixed it for you.

Woah, I'd say Flacco and Ray Lew DEFINITELY had an important contribution, just as much as Reed

Hrm..Derrick Mason had finger surgery yesterday. On PFT.

Sounds like he hurt it during the Broncos game. He's been playing with it, playing pretty well, too. That said, the bye seems to have come at the right time.

Heal up quick, Mase!

Mattison needs to mix in SOME press coverage. You dont have to play it 50% of the time, or even 30% but our corners have to mix the looks. You cant constantly give free release, especially when you have help over the top from 2 safeties.

Right?! I always see our CBs 7 yards off the WRs. Jamming the receivers is critical, and if you think about it, that should stimulate our pass rush as well.

I dont think I have ever seen the recievers jammed durning Mattisons time here.
Mattison hasn't had a CB who can successfully jam WRs.

Look at the best press coverage CBs in the league--Asomugha, Revis and Al Harris--and what they have in common. All three of them are tall, strong and have long arms. You can't say that about any CB on the Ravens' roster.

I think once Webb is fully recovered that he could fill that role. I will agree tho that most of our CBs are undersized or just speedy.

The ravens are champions on paper. We have a a lot of talen on both sides of the ball. Joe flacco looks confused sometimes we have the same o packages. Use different set ur rookie tight ends more. Against blitzing teams use screens more. Throw the ball down field. The coaches are sad everyone is 2 laid back not agressive. The defense use 2 b tough when they had rex. They don't blitz nearly enough. There sayn come throw the ball on us. Were afraid to get beat deep and they still do. Linebackers are doing nothing except ray lewis. Go sign shawn merrriman it can t be worst. Or let the jets sign him. Where's the authority at. Please if we keep giving up yards lke this we won't make it to the playoffs. Call bill cowher

We dont need to do it for a majority of a game or split it, we just need to mix the looks up, I mean the Pats started jamming our guys at the LOS with McCourty and Butler. McCourty has the potential to be a good press corner but I wouldnt call Butler a good press corner. Hell even their nickel was pressing on TJ.

Like I've said before, you wonder what Mattison is thinking.

Looking back though, I do remember, Webb attempting to jam Welker and Branch during the Pats game. Welker beat him off the line and had a nice catch and run for a first down. Brnach literally muscled Lardarius to get open and caught a short pass.

I knew we should've got Revis. Our team would've been complete with him sitting on the sideline with various injuries due to him not being in football shape.

can you imagine Fabian trying to jam TO or Hines Ward? Lol...
We just dont have the guys who can do that. Webb might be able to once he refines other areas of his game first, but I think having our guys pressing recievers is playing with fire...

I miss the days of Cmac and Rolle...,,,,,,,,

We should try and pick up shawn merriman it definetly won't hurt what the worse can happen
Once he gets released, I'm sure the Ravens will put in a claim for him.

Hey I'm even getting warmer to the idea of trying to acquire Merriman. I was the one calling him a 'roid-ravaged injury-plagued has been' a week or so ago.

I think Merriman could provide a huge spark for our defense. I'm not sure if he could ever go back to the player he was in 06, but for at least this year, he will play with a chip on his shoulder for whatever team picks him up. An angry Merriman, alongside Suggs, and Ngata might be able to do some damage.

I'm all for it. While we are at it we can get him hooked on LSD. Then when he starts visualizing that the opposing QB looks like Tila Tequila, just like the Waterboy, we just pocketed ourselves a Super Bowl!

I was flat out against bringing Merriman in at first. Knee jerk reaction to the drug use I guess. Everyone says he is a shell of himself (as a player) since he went off the 'roids. Here is my thought: Perhaps a little Ray Lewis tutelage could indeed benefit Merriman. Look at the shape Ray keeps himself in without the benefit of drugs. Not to mention some old fashioned football basics and knowledge, who knows? Merriman could make a come-back with the right kind of team and surrounded by the right type of coaches and mentors. I wouldn't take him at his current salary though. If he passes waivers and we can get a deal, I think it's worth a try.
