Err, except for the fact the Steelers were ranked #1 the previous week as well.
So? I said in no uncertain terms that power rankings were crap. Although, I fully thought we'd win that game and we nearly did. Us being ranked over you that week proved to be inaccurate, but not outlandish. Us getting Ben back and being ranked above the Ravens this week makes sense.

I'm sick and tired of the posters that "diss" Flacco. I am tired of hearing Rex Ryan rant. I hate that Cam keeps calling plays where Joe has to make soft throws (this just doesn't play to Joe's ability i.e.long, deep throws - he has the receivers now). Why do we use Ngata on goal-line offensive plays that only allow him to get hurt playing a position that is not comfortable with? Why do we continue to use Zibby to return punts when he only runs east/west/south instead of north? Mostly, I hate the Gaither controversy. Really, why is he not playing? A 25 year old with a serious back problem - C'mon man! And, why are the Ravens allowing this situation to continue indefintely? OK, I feel much better now. With all that said, let's go Ravens and beat the Patriots.

The Jets

The Steelers

The fact that the Pats get 2 weeks to gameplan for us and we get 2 weeks to gameplan for the Bills.

Orton throwing deep passes at the end of the halves for no reason and our secondary letting them score.

Why is Cousins first name O'Neil?!?!

Ed isn't off the PUP yet.

Wow, I think this thread needs a Wahhhhhmbulance.

All these what if scenarios from some Steelers fans are getting annoying. You don't hear Bills fans saying: "What if our front office didn't suck...", "What if our coaches didn't suck...", "What if our players didn't suck...", "What if we drafted Peyton Manning...".

Why? Because it's entirely irrelevant - just like the points Steeler fans are making and just like my rant! [/rant]

I heard that statement in other forums regarding the Jets popping bottles and some confetti at the end of this season...

What if statements are actually relevant, depending on the probability of the outcome in question. In fact, "what if" is the whole theory that football is based off of, since it is the foundation of a strategic mind.

I think my tears can be felt in other threads, so why concentrate my river when I can spread it around the forum, having the maximum effect on you all.

Take THAT flyboy! ^_^

This is a crying thread. There doesn't have to be logic. If someone wants to cry about missed field goals, that's okay here.
Lol. Sorry. Didn't mean to rain on the man's parade.

Why, why, why is it that every time a team dumps a player there is a thread about how the Ravens should pick them up??? (see "let's go get Merriman" thread).

What ifs are only relevant in a hypothetical situation, and have great value in that regard. The problem is these what ifs are being used as excuses as to why this team or that team was incapable of winning over the Ravens. If they are acknowledging Raven superiority and then what if-ing about an alternate outcome, I cannot cry about that.

Maybe one day :(

oh wait, you said something else in your post, lol...something about "what if being a relevant question"?
Nah, cant agree with that. At least not in the sense of "what if Ben was playing?"
what if ed reed picked him off three times?,,,,

WOW -- the steelers have more to cry about than the Ravens. Thats a good thing, it shows were on top.
and considering that the steelers beat the Ravens on average by a field goal when Bean was healthy and they lose by 3 when he is out, means he is worth less than a touchdown to the team.

You should think about that before you use the old "Ben" excuse.

Ah my whine.

Here in Ireland every second person cheers for the Patriots.
Shameless bandwagon jumpers the lot of them.

But let's face it, the Ravens are not a huge worldwide brand like the Cowboys, 49'ers, Patriots or Dolphins.

Went to a pub for last seasons playoff game and didn't see anyone else in purple, I was vastly outnumbered.
Make the win so much sweeter :)

However, we do have a good UK & Ireland crew, quite small but great fans and trying to recruit more

SHHHHHHH. We inflate the Steeler ego and confidence, because when we beat them again with Roethlisberger it can feel that much worse. Cmon, foresight people! :D

ESPN is a joke. After seeing that their AFC North blogger says that the Steelers are the only dominant team in the NFL this year, I refuse to read anything on that website or watch anything outside of a game on their network.

It has been good for some laughs recently though and their writers do seem to be great at going to various team websites and copying and pasting.

Walker is an idiot! The Squeelers would have had the same game plan if Ben did play. Our coverage in our secondary was terrific. They threw down field but were not successful. Besides Ben does not play defense. Joe won that game because Ozzie gave him the tools that could do the job. Joe will beat them again here. But until then, we will hear the idiot writers and their love fest for the darlings of the league. Lets face it Ravens fans we are viewed as a second class sports town. But our players know that we are the greatest fans in the league.

The Bills get two weeks to prepare for us, too. Two weeks in a row we play teams coming off their bye.
Honestly... the Bills could get two months off, to prepare for the Ravens. Still wouldn't make a difference.

No, I said "what if" is relevant only in a hypothetical situation. What if Ed Reed pick him off three times? What if Suggs sacked Ben on the first possession and broke his leg? What if a meteor landed on Heinz stadium and horribly bruised everyone wearing gold and black? Anything could happen in the "what if" world.

Oh and we have mindless drones. They are called Steelers fans.

Wait, maybe the gin n tonics are kicking in..but...isnt 'what if...' hypothetical by nature, therefore saying what if is only relevant in hypothetical situations kinda, well, obvious? I mean, what else could you apply 'what if...' to without making the entire discussion hypothetical? I guess what I'm saying is, what if... can be applied to anything and it would be relevant, since the discussion is hypothetical anyway....Ok....I guess its easier to just say I'm drunk lol
