Ngata

Hensley just tweeted,
"Ravens not present at start of practice: Ngata, Gooden, Stallworth, Gaither"

We all know about the others, but what's up w/ Ngata?

He got a little banged up during the Denver game on that goal-line play when he went out for a pass. He walked off the field, though, and was back in the game on defense. Shouldn't be a big deal.

Yeah, that was the 1st series. I would have thought if it was real serious they would have pulled him when the game was pretty much decided in the middle of the 4th qtr. But he played the entire game. That is why I'm wondering why he's not practicing today.

Who knows, maybe it bruised up a little bit more, whatever it is. Maybe he caught a cold, I know I have one haha. Maybe John Harbaugh gave him the day off because Oregon beat Stanford. Whatever the case, I fully expect him to be (fully) back out there soon.

I'm hoping nothing is wrong and, at the same time, am pretty confident that there isn't.

No need to panic, he'll be just fine.
This is something they've done all season so far.
A little extra day off for a well conditioned vet, isn't a bad thing, and you'll see them do it the rest of the season too.
Apparently, Rice didn't practice either and in his presser he said, they'll give him extra time off, or an extra day on Wednesday, as a two day break because they don't practice on Tuesday.
It only makes sense.

Ngata not practicing may have been part a bet he had with Harbaugh about the Oregon/Stanford game. Here's a picture that was posted on Facebook:

Knee problems with his presence on the offensive line last game. Not worried too much about this, let him heal and be at full speed against the Pats

"Haloti Ngata says he has a mild mcl sprain and plans on playing sunday is limping slightly."

yah..although it's nothing serious, it's something he and coaches need to be cautious about it. Harb and Cam shouldn't use Ngata on the offense of line as a receiver slot. His risk of injury is bigger than a TD, whereas we have Cody who is not even being used as frequently yet. Ngata's role on the defense is much bigger than on the offense. Use him wisely, Harbaugh.
