Bandwagon?

SORRY THAT THIS IS LONG. THANK YOU FOR READING.

I'm 26 (2 days ago). I've watched/played football since I was 11-13. I never really considered having a team, but when asked I usually just said Broncos. I never kept up with anyone's quarterback, stats or games won-lost. I did recently say on FB that I was rooting for Falcons (home state), Saints and Buccaneers. I already knew Ravens would stomp Broncos and I liked Ravens as well. I had 5 teams and I caught flak. So, I sat down and thought hard researching all the teams for which would be MY team. During last Sunday's game, my good friend said he was the only Ravens fan here (Nebraska). I immediately dropped Buccaneers. Then the Falcons (never REALLY liked them anyway). I was almost ready to settle with the Saints, but couldn't. The only other Broncos fan got all pissy and told me "Go away, the Broncos don't need a fan like you"... that's childish. Remembering that I've watched a lot of Ravens games and they were exciting and R. Lewis is a damn beast!... I chose Ravens. My good (Ravens) fan got all excited and is bragging that our squadron has a 2nd Raven in the house, while the (Broncos) girl is running around calling me a bandwagoner. She keeps telling people it's because Ravens beat Broncos and I can't stand a team losing (not true). She also said it's b/c Broncos suck this year and Ravens are 4-1, but so are the Falcons, the Saints won the Superbowl last year and the Broncos have won 2 Superbowls. Wouldn't I choose one of those 3 if I was bandwagoning??? Anyway, let me know what you guys/girls think please. I bleed Purple from now on baby!

Is that your final answer? Or will you dump the Ravens when things start going bad? That's what a bandwagon fan would do.

A non-bandwagon fan, finds a team and sticks with them through the thick and thin.

Your story could go either way. You sound like your more a football fan in general. And usually a winning team catches your eye. If you don't want to be a bandwagon fan, pick a team, and stick with them. Learn about them. Understand who they are. Just don't watch them for the wins.

I'm actually learning more and more about football in depth lately. I'm learning the team, which I'm very impressed with. I'm excited about the Ravens. I'm remembering stats, which surprises the hell out of me. I actually want to stand up and yell for them during games. I've never felt that way about any team. If they lose a game, don't make the playoffs or go 0-16 like the Lions... no doubt, I will be disappointed, but I'm never gonna abandon them. I feel like I belong for once.

In that case, welcome to our world.

Thanks, it feels good.

I actually want to buy a jersey for the first time. I'm debating on whether to get a $250 Authentic or settle with the $80 Replica or $150 Premier. Maybe a custom one made with "WAR" on the back with 13, but not sure how that would look... or a R. Lewis jersey which I'm sure I could keep wearing after he retires. Any thoughts?
