[Blogs] Late For Work 10/13: Look On Steelers Fans’ Faces – Priceless

79 posts in this topic

Hello Pittsburgh fans. Look at the Steelers defense, now back to me, now back at the Steelers defense, now back to me. Sadly, they couldn't cover me. But if they stopped sending Troy Palomalu on the blitz and had him in coverage you could have potentially covered me. Look down, back up. Where are you? You're in your seat, in a stadium that just went dead silent because of my magnificent play. What's in your hand? Back at me. I have it. It's the football I just caught to seal the victory in your own house. Look again. The football is now diamonds. Anything is possible when you play smart defense and don't let up big plays. I'm on a horse.

on an overall average of the seven we are ranked #1. not that i care about the rankings but just an observation. on another note, i agree with the fans in here that are sick of people talking about the jets holding mark sanchez back and not having holmes. im also sick about hearing that the steelers didnt have BIG BEN. everybody that talks fails to realize that we didnt have Webb for the first two games, we haven't had Reed, we're missing Foxworth and thats just on degense. on offense we're missing Gaither who is a great tackle when he is healthy and we didnt have Stallworth in there. When are we gonna get the respect we deserve?!

Another question I have for everybody out there who knows the NFL. Don't be biased either but who really has the better D? When the Steelers were without Polamolu last season they were DOO-DOO. We're missing Reed and Foxworth and we are still getting it done (minus that one loss to Cincy haha). So overall, I think that we have the better D because even without or bigtime playmaker we're still stopping teams for the most part. I feel so sorry for all those teams once we do get Reed back.

cincy's offense never scored against our defense either.we totally shut down Cedrick Benson T.O. and Ochostinco. field goals only .

@Ravens84--Hey hey hey now, you can't steal my thunder lol. Go back a few pages, it's mine allllllllllll mine lmao just messing with ya. I did use it though, quite funny huh? For all I care that could be his only TD all season and I will say he had a great year for just sticking it to Pittsburgh in their house. Oh and of course Joe for making it possible.

I'm slightly skeptical of the methodology for the Harris Interactive poll. Any time during the season is going to be a slightly biased time to respond to a poll for some respondents, depending on how teams performed that week or the week before. But doing a poll during the playoffs or after the Super Bowl is potentially even worse. The best time to gauge teams' popularity is probably in the preseason or right before the first games. Even though you lose some of the immediacy of people's opinions, you don't have the bias of how the teams are playing, who won or lost to who the week before, what players and coaches are saying, or penalties and fines, etc. affecting the results.

I'm glad the Ravens are more popular than ever before. On the other hand, we're also having one of the best openings to our season in the last 10 years, and won in a spectacular fashion the last two weeks (first in the last minute, then by a wide margin), so I have to suspect that that increased popularity is potentially fickle and fleeting.

Bottom line: this is the kind of statistic (like ESPN's power rankings) that can change from week to week.
