Did I Miss Something?

One of my leagues is a money league with flex format. I had a dearth of rb/wr Roy Williams, Austin Collie, Santonio Holmes, Derrick Mason and was wondering what I should do about Collie who I just read was wearing a "boot." Right about then phone tweets...guy wants to trade me Sanchez for Collie. I jumped on that like free crabcakes, since I don't have a qb for the week 8 bye. Did I miss something or did he?

Don't do it! Collie is your best receiver out of all of those guys. atleast try to get another person from him for him.

Bad, bad move. Even if he is wearing a boot, he'll be back to his normal self for this season very soon. You'd seriously trade a star fantasy receiver for a bye week plug-in quarterback?

you probably couldve picked up a plug in bye week QB instead of trading away your best WR out of your group. i think you missed something, no offense

lol...none taken...got Devone Bess in the deal also but the more I look at this the more I bite my lip...picked Collie up off of Waivers in week 1...nobody wanted him and it seemed like Wayne and Garcon were getting all the targets. I've still got him in another money league (also picked up off waivers in week 1) and won't make the same mistake twice...I feel kinda stupid right now...

meh my friend in my league picked up collie too, and he has started him like once or twice and has since sat on the bench. it wasnt as bad cause you got Bess too, but you could still use a good WR. any good ones on the waiver wire?
Ex: Mike Williams (TB), Mike Wallace (PIT), Malcom Floyd (SD), or even a Jabar Gaffney (DEN)?

So you would get Davone Bess and Mark Sanchez? Is it a ppr league? How many teams? It's worth considering.

I hear you. Collie is a sell high candidate even though he's wearing a boot (could be viewed as a buy low to some). But with Garcon back and healthy, I would not be surprised if the scales start to tilt a bit.

Plus Collie has the 2009 MSW syndrome going on. He gets hot and is playing great, then teams start game planning for these players a bit more, and production drops.

The only reason why I probably wouldn't do this trade in your shoes, is because of your others receivers. You don't have a clear #1 guy. So the more options you have a week the better.
