Help?

13 posts in this topic

ok so i need some help with my fantasy team. its an 8 team league with a few of my friends. my team did consist of

Qbs: Peyton Manning, Flacco, Vick
RBs: Michael Turner, Peyton Hillis, Benjarvis green-ellis, and pierre thomas
Wrs: Miles Austin, Wes Welker, Johnny Knox, Mark Clayton, Lance Moore
TE: Jermichael Finley
K: Mason Crosby
D: saints

Well after this past weekend i made some moves. i obviously dropped clayton because hes out for the year. and i dropped finley cause hes out for a few weeks. these are the waiver claims i have in:

Malcom Floyd for Clayton
Mike Williams (from TB) for Lance Moore
Tony Moeaki (TE from KC) for Finley
Nate Wahington for Johnny Knox

usually they say if u drop a lot of your team your pretty much SOL. i usually dont do this for that reason lol. i know i need some WR and RB help. like really really bad. and i could drop vick, but a few of the other owners in the league are big eagles fans so i figured i'd hang on to him to see if i could swing a trade or something. i just needed some insight as to who you guys think i should pick up? like with all the injuries lately and trades etc, who on what team, is goin to benefit and would be worth a spot on my roster??? thanks everyone

Great moves right there. Malcom Flloyd and Mike Williams. In an 8 team league you can probably do better than Moeaki or Washington. Who else is out there?

Holding onto three QBs when you have Peyton Manning isn't really necessary, especially in an 8 team league. You could almost go with 1 QB and just pick up a bye week replacement on the waiver when Peyton's out. Have you benched Peyton yet?

What other TE's are on the waiver wire?

TEs on waiver wire:
Zach Miller
Chris Cooley
Jeremy Shockey
Brandon Pettigrew

i did have a waiver pickup set for zach miller, but i saw the chiefs are playing the texans this week (32nd against the pass) and then i switched to Moeaki.

and i did bench peyton one time. the first week Mike Vick was named the starter. and then vick went out and got me 32 points LOL.

This is what my waiver wire order would look like if I were you:

Malcom Floyd for Clayton
Mike Wallace for Lance Moore
Zach Miller for Mike Vick/Joe Flacco (too many QBs, try trading one or two)
Mike Williams for Clayton
Mike Williams for Lance Moore
Chris Cooley for Mike Vick/Joe Flacco

Mike Williams is in there twice to pick up the scraps of the Floyd and Wallace outcome. You have too many QBs, you need to do something. I'd probably cut Joe Flacco. Yes I said it. Zach Miller is the best TE on that board followed by Cooley.

Sometimes you have to make bold moves to win.

I would rather have Lynch than BJG. Fred Taylor, Woodhead and Morris will still steal carries on a passing team. From the sounds of it, Seattle wants to lean on Lynch and have him be that power back.

Mike Wallace with Big Ben coming back should see some nice deep catches for the rest of the season. Much better long term option over Lance Moore by far.

There's only a handful of guys in the league that get all the work. Torain is one of those guys right now. What he does with it is yet to be seen. But the opportunity is there (behind a bad O line).

I like Torain, just don't where to fit him into your roster. I'd probably still want Lynch over Torain by a hair.

How many WR's do you need to start a week? It's easier to find WRs off the waiver than RBs when needed.

i have to start 2 and then i have the flex where it can be a WR or RB
[/quote]

We'll your always starting Miles Austin and for the most part Wes Welker. So for only starting 2 WRs you can get by with having 4 guys. Out of all those other guys we've talked about I'd want Malcom Floyd and Mike Wallace.

Then with the running backs I'd have Michael Turner, Peyton Hillis, Pierre Thomas, Lynch and Torain.

TE; Zach miller.

That gives you great flex plays in Lynch, Torain, Hillis, Floyd or Wallace each week.
