Can someone please tell how I could add pictures to my posts and to my profile?

Can someone please tell how I could add pictures to my posts and to my profile?

- Log in.

- Click on My Controls.

- Use menu on left of screen to add pictures/avatar and signature.

After weeks of trying, nothing I load from my hard drive to use as a personal photo works. All images I've tried meet all size requirements and are the same images I use without problem on other boards.
