I don't think there's anything weird about it, the players in their division are the ones that they have to analyze twice a year, they have a lot of research on those guys, so they sign them. I don't blame them, to me, it's just like the Browns taking all of our garbage.

i think every team as their own way of "rebuilding" and so they go about doing what they feel is the best option for them to run with.....and signing players from within their own devision or something to them seems to be the most logical option to run with...because they've seen at least 2 times per year first hand at the players talents and what they bring to the table, and so they know who's impact and whos not....

You have a point; one would think they'd steal receivers from a better division.

I have to agree with that.

Don't forget, the knowledge that these players have of their former teams can be an asset during divisional games.

It's an age-old tactic in the book of gamesmanship, where teams will temporarily sign a scrub from another team for a week or two and try to pump him for knowledge during game preparations.

Only difference in this case is, these "scrubs" are decent-caliber, higher-priced players who are likely to stay for longer than simply a week or two.

But still used goods from division rivals, nonetheless. Same concept.

They just recently released Darrell Jackson who they got from the Seahawks last year. And this season they bought in Issac Bruce from the Rams and Johnson from the Cardinals. I dont wanna jump to any conclusion but is it me or is there a real problem in San Fran?

I think that Mike Nolan is struggling. He's weak when it comes to scouting, and it's starting to show. I'm not saying that he's a bad coach. I think that he's a great coach, but he always had Ozzie to get him new talent when he was here in Baltimore.

In a way, he seems to be building a team that resembles the Ravens in San Francisco, and he stole Joe Staley from us in the last draft.

i think its a matter of overall Lack of knowledge and knowing what they Truly do need....it seems like they are kinda of lost in a way and thus need a little bit of or more help than that of the other teams out there. thus they bring in other players from other teams (particularly in their own division) because they have seen what they can do and feel that its their best opportunity to get back on track.

good point about being an asset for division rivals! i'm sure that the coaches are aware and switch up the plays a little when the time comes though.

the knowledge of what these Players can bring to their "new" teams...is more often than not...very valauble and vital aspects to a teams overall success. plus i think that with the new team, the player can, not only provide vital aspects to their oppent's they play, but also.....the new team can offer new schemes, new ideas, new plays about going about and executing them and utilizing the players Potential and maximizing it to its fullest potential, if you know what i mean. which can ultimately bring stability to a certain position.

stealing players from divisional rivals is a good strategy for other teams...because seeing how they see each other 2 times a year, they are able to personally look at and evaluate every player out there on the opposing side of the football and determine whether or not to go after them the following season.
