Well, All My Fellow Ravens Fans.....

I would just like to say good luck on beating the Steelers for the division, I'd much rather see the Ravens take it than the Steelers. As much as I hate to say it, especially after week 5 but the Bengals season is over, they just aren't playing well at all, especially on offense - Too many penalties, bad throws, drops, bad blocking etc. We definitely don't have what it takes to win the division this year, I'm starting to look forward to next year already (If their is one, which I surely hope there will be). Sad when you know your season is over after only 5 weeks of football. The teams within the division are just too good this year and the Bengals haven't even played the tougher teams yet (Falcons, Dolphins, Colts, Saints, Chargers, Steelers, Ravens, Jets). As much as I hate to say it, there's just no way it's going to happen. Hopefully we can win a few games throughout, but it's just unfortunate. Definitely had high expectations this year. I know it's not good to "give up" especially 5 weeks into a season but I'm a realist.

I can understand your frustration. You lost two games in a row that you feel you should have won. I said it last year, and I still believe it, the Bengals need a new QB. Palmer is not Palmer anymore and hasn't been since the injury. Still, the season is young, there is a lot of football left and you only have three losses. Some of those teams that looked to be "tough" at the start of the season are having issues of their own, i.e. the Saints, the Colts. You might be right about the Bengals not taking the division looking at 2 games back already and some tough games ahead but that doesn't put them out of the playoff hunt yet.

You guys still get the Steelers twice. Even if we start to pull away with the division you guys still control your own destiny in terms of 2nd place which usually is enough for a wild card.

I did not expect the Bengals to melt until Thanksgiving--Palmer does not play well once it gets cold. Just beat the Steelers lol

The Bengals, Who Dey? Oh that team that was lucky enough to watch the Ravens beat themselves up in Cincy, gotcha. Yeah I have to agree your team is done and I actually thought they would be serious contenders in the division and through out. Now they can still contend but I will have to take back the "serious" part though. How you think we feel Bengal fan? Our Ravens should be sitting at 5-0 right now, but hey we as Raven fans know that an undefeated season was not going to happen here in Baltimore. So it was good to get that loss out the way, chew it a little and taste it early. All I can say is good luck when the Bengals come to Baltimore, I am pretty sure the out come will be alot different and not in the Bengals favor!!

I know it's way early but I have no shame in saying that the last game of the season vs Cincy scares the hell out of me. Whether indeed they have nothing to play for or the game has meaning to the Bengals I see this one as a major hurdle down the road. Around here we always think Steelers first in rivalry talk but the stats vs Cincy kinda quietly get swept under the rug. Newsflash! We have only beaten them 3 times out of the last 10 matchups. Normally I wouldn't be sweating them as much but being that it is a rarity for us to see them so late in the season they are in a powerful position to be party crashers for us. Personally I think they are done before that game and they rally together one last swan song for Marvin with us being served up as the gift. Thoughts?

Give up easily, enough?

Your're still a fan, get back in there and support your team. It would help if Cincy would sell out their games and get the fans loud like the Bank.

BTW, We are going to pwn the Steelers this year. Make them our <stepchildren>

Your season is definitely not over, but if you really feel that way, by all means play spoiler and knock out Pittsburgh for us.

The AFC north could field 3 teams in the playoffs this year, the AFC north plays a style of football that is condusive to late year victories, run the ball, stiff defense, and conan mindset...

Crush your enemies
See them driven before you
and here the Lamentation of the opposing fans....

Let's see, for the Bengals to win, they'll probably need the last WC spot assuming Ravens or Steelers get the first one, so they'll have to edge out:

AFC East:
Patriots: The Jets will probably win the division, so the Pats are looking at your WC spot. But, they have to face the AFCN, which could mean 2 more losses. They also go against a tough NFC North. Unfortunately the Bengals lost to the Pats, so there goes a good tiebreaker opportunity.

AFC South:
The weaker of two teams, Colts or Texans, will also be in the running. But, the Colts injury/defense concerns and the Texans' sudden slump could mean the "runner up" to the division might land at 9-7.

AFC West:
I doubt a WC comes from here, even if the Chiefs and San Diego look good. Too bad they get to play the NFC West, which is easy pickings.

Funny thing about that, on Madden I'm playing as the Bengals in Franchise and working on Year 2 and plan on Trading Away Carson Palmer in the off-season and making Tony Pike my new Franchise QB lol.I'll post more about that in the Madden Thread but back on subject...

I think it's a little too early to throw the towel in. Bengals do have a tough schedule coming up but if Carson continues to make mistakes and throw interceptions then that alone will hurt the Bengals chances of winning. I would at least like to see the Bengals beat the Steelers and maybe give it a shot at the Wild Card and hope to see 3 AFC North teams in the playoffs... at some point maybe not this year but sometime.

Well I saw this before the season began... From the moment they signed Bryant (whom never practiced ) then T.O., people started saying to me at work "Ohhh the Bengals gonna win it again huh" and I said no way because the Bengals gave that up last year first by letting the Jets into the playoffs then by getting whipped by them a second time..

Benson had his best year to date last year but it was one productive season ( his stats decreased later in the season) after signing T.O drafting gresham and shipley.. I said the bengals look like they wanna spread the ball out with 4 WR sets but last year they were a power running team.. That is what you call and identity crisis, they can't decide if they wanna run 30 times or throw 40..

The Ravens had this same problem last yr through the first 5 games, then as the season went on we became more and more run oriented.....
