Take the purple glasses off, Welker has been averaging 6 catches and about 60 yards a game. And just under a TD a game so he is due Sunday.
Why are teams always due against us according to you.

Welker is good, but your out of your mind if you dont think Moss had alot to do with Welker's success, they were a perfect pairing together. Im not saying Welker wont be a factor in the game because thats not correct either, but I also dont think hes going to tear us up.

he's a colts fan, what would you expect...i'd have sour grapes too if we barely escaped KC with a win.
Too bad we dont play the almighty colts this year, its time to get some payback for all the losses they've handed us.,,,,,,,,

Just curious, how did welker do against us last year? Not very well if I said remember correct, but I'm interested in seeing the stats and far too lazy to do my own research.

Have you seen Webb play? No one is saying he's Asomugha or an elite CB but he's cat-quick, has very good closing speed and is a better tackler than most CBs in the NFL.<br />
on top of that, webb is terrific in man coverage, and just as physical as welker. I would be shocked if welker cracks a hundred on us. He might get those little 4 yards dinks, but webb is going to cream him every time he touches the ball. There will be NO Y.A.C.. for welker this weekend.
Clearly funkmasterflex has no idea about webb.

Welker is Moss's shadow, nothing better. How many times teams have to double cover Moss?

Webb will shut down Welker. All I see is Brady will use his TE alot than usual. Screen pass is Brady's best friend this coming Sunday.

thank you.

Well, the raven's forum has spoken and rests its case verse welker. He is sentenced to 60 mins of solitary confinement with webb on sunday.

Adjourned...

Why isn't anyone talking about the play of ED Dickson? He made a 58yd play. He carried Dawkins for over 10yds. Ravens get this guy the ball!

He also missed a few key blocks. Dickson is a rookie, still growing. He deserves tempered praise, though..

Really want in all likelihood is going to happen is Welker is going to be bracketed with Webb/Carr and a LB.

Thats funny, know one has contain Welker yet. I see the Ravens double teaming Welker and trying their luck with the other Patriots WRs.
I wasn't aware anyone said anything about NOT double teaming him. No one has contained Welker pre-Moss because Moss drew the double team. That said, I think Webb CAN do a good job on Welker just think the Ravens won't ask him to do it alone.

Joe was absolutely terrible in the playoff game, but then again, he didn't have to do much. We need a MUCH better effort this week, and I expect that we will get that.
Joe was injured coming into that playoff game and it was more than obvious that it was bothering him. And it still bothered him in the Indy game. Ravens' gameplanned around Joe's injury. All we need from Joe is the same type of performance he gave us last year during the regular season when we played them.

yes, but its not as entertaining to say that lol..

Heres what I do worry about though...
We will be sending help webbs way through the course of the game.
I'm not concerned about webb one on one with welker so much as i am worried about pulling coverage off hernandez too often.
Dont be surprised to see ellerbe getting a lot of playing time this week, possibly even starting. Perhaps this is my purple shades speaking, but ellerbe is dynamite in coverage...one of the best coverage lbers in the league. I think ellerbe will be on hernandez most of the game, and landry / zibi providing help on welker.
This is why i think the webb / welker matchup is so crucial...if webb contains him one on one, our safeties can focus on hernandez and tate, and we will pretty much eliminate any semblence of a deep attack.
And we already know they wont be running on us.

I really, really want to predict another whooping, but the Pats are just too good to go out on such a limb.

I do think we win this though.

This game is a huge opportunity. The more wins we can rack up against similar opponents (to the Steelers) the happier I am. Checking Pittsburgh's schedule, I don't think they're going to struggle too much this year. Maybe they will here and there, but we absolutely need wins like this given that they get the Jets AND the Pats AT Heinz field (typical :34853_shakehead: ).

Something Suggs has yet to do this year... we need him to step up and earn the big payday we gave him.
For real? I don't know if you've noticed, but I sure have noticed that teams avoid Suggs when they run the ball.

Yes and lets not forget about them getting Branch back so they still have to keep their eyes open for him as well.

Agreed. The stat sheet doesn't show the impact Suggs has had this season. He's not an elite pass rusher but I don't think there's a hybrid player in the league that can do all the things he does as well.

Agreed. He's been playing at an extremely high level. During the Broncos game, I think he was double-teamed on the majority of his pass-rush opportunities.

Of course, some people will whine that he's not putting up the sacks (he already has 2.5 this year, though) but that's not what the Ravens are asking from him. He makes the defense so much better.

Yep, once again all our tough games are away games. Last year it was San Diego, NE, Green Bay, Minnesota. This year it's NE, NYJ, Atlanta, Houston. At least we get Saints at home, but they don't look too good anyway.

Eh, this team's used to it.

I dont even bother responding to the 'suggs is overpaid' rants. It is a very uneducated statement to make, and you can only repeat yourself so many times before you just give up trying to educate the masses.

Can you believe were already on the road again, going up against another tough team? We've had no shortage of the Pats in the news even in their BYE week because of the recent trade of wide reciever Randy Moss. The Ravens last traveled to Gillette Stadium during the wildcard round of last years playoffs. We won in convincing fashion. Little Ray Rice started the day off with an 83 yard run.

Coming into the game on a 3 game winning streak, the Ravens look to take down a team thats hungry for revenge (and they had an extra week to think about that revenge). Whats the game plan for this one?

Suggs will beat Matt Light like a red headed step child. Vollmer should be on the left.
He abused Light twice for strip-sacks last year despite being overweight. I'm excited to see what he can do now with his explosiveness back.

All this talk is getting me really hyped up. Im really looking foward to this. I agree that this will be a very big game for us. We have an opportunity to take a legitmate lead and hold over the AFC. Defense should pull through, and the offense looks like it might be finally getting into groove. It should be a good game.

Did you see Ellerbe working amazingly in coverage the past couple games? I would expect to see him playing a lot this game.

I completely agree that it will fall on our offense against their defense. I just don't see the Pats defense measuring up to our offense. The past couple of games that offense has been clicking so much better than week one. And I think Cam Cameron got it through his thick skull that when the opposing defense makes adjustments against our passing game it is time to pick up the run game. Joe will be healthy and he has been improving every game, but as we saw last Sunday the best way to keep him clicking is the run game. I just don't see any of the Pats corners beating Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason, TJ Housh, and Todd Heap.

And I agree with all of you, Dickson is going to be a BEAST in a few games. He needs to get his blocking down, but he's a rookie so that is expected. But he's big and has great hands. And we have been missing the "big" receivers, size-wise anyways.

(I normally am I lurker but I like to post when I don't get frustrated at everyone hating on Joe haha.)

@Foxboro AGAIN. God forbid our road opponents be easy games like the Bills or the Dolphins. Nope we have to play the good AFC East teams on the road. Ah well, even if we lose this game (which we shouldn't, with how we dominated last year and how we've got a better roster this year and the Patriots a worse roster than last year) we've got two easy opponents at home to follow.
