Merged--Week 6: Patriots

247 posts in this topic

Can you believe were already on the road again, going up against another tough team? We've had no shortage of the Pats in the news even in their BYE week because of the recent trade of wide reciever Randy Moss. The Ravens last traveled to Gillette Stadium during the wildcard round of last years playoffs. We won in convincing fashion. Little Ray Rice started the day off with an 83 yard run.

Coming into the game on a 3 game winning streak, the Ravens look to take down a team thats hungry for revenge (and they had an extra week to think about that revenge). Whats the game plan for this one?

A lot of eyes will be on this game as they want to see what the new look Pats can do.

Their defense is bad though. We should be able to slice through it like a hot knife through butter.

After broncos blowout game, were moving onto a road game at patriots. Patriots won't forget the blowout we gave em on their field last year. I have a feeling Belichick have a huge schemes for us after a bye week. They are well rested, and we are onto their home.
We were penalty free for most of the season, will Belicheat have a scheme for us to aggravate and rustle our aggressiveness?

Run the ball, and blanket Welker.

There's Hernandez to worry about too.

If we get by the Patriots, then our schedule easies down for the next month. Two games at home against Buffalo, then the bye, then Miami, and on the road at Atlanta which we should be able to win.

With out Moss, we should win. Key word: SHOULD.

With Moss, in the playoffs, we smoked them! Just saying....

We won another game today - good win, but nothing special. Flacco played inconsistent, but he did have protection and he did protect the ball. Glad to see Cam bring back the running game with Rice - who did a great job today. D was stellar, as usual. I feel pretty good about our game next week against the Pats, especially since we don;t have to deal with Moss. Your thoughts?

No.. Worry about their tight ends in general but yeah Hernandez is the standout.

The Pats now are a very similar team to the Broncos, so I predict we're gonna roll 'em. Rice will likely have another big game and Flacco could as well.

Blitzing is not going to be very effective in this game. Suggs, Ngata and Redding will have to do this pass rush on their own. If we blitz, Brady will kill us by hitting the open man fast. We need to gameplan on coverage. They really only run because they have too. Concentrate on coverage and get the ball in the O's hands against a weak D.

Why do we have 3 threads about the Patriots being the next team up? I don't know where to post!
[/quote]

Because we've been a bit busy and hadn't merged them yet.

I wasn't knocking you guys as much as the creators! Just expected people to look two threads down, but I guess I have high expectations.

I like the matchups of our receivers against their corners and the matchup of our run game against their 18th ranked run defense. It's always tough in Foxboro though.

I think you're missing a "not" somewhere in that sentence lol.

This is Tom Brady we are talking about. He's seen it all and knows how to get the job done, even without Moss. They have very effective TEs and their receivers can get the job done. We can win this but it won't be easy. I think a solid rushing offense will keep them honest.

I would like to see how Belichick will try to take away a playmaker or part of our offense from us.

your right. I meant to say blitzing is not going to be effective. Totally screwed up that sentence. Back to English class for me!

If we win this game we could very well be sitting on 6-1 heading into a bye week and then a home game against the Dolphins. Big one for the team.
