Nice trivia but I for one don't subscribe to QB win/loss records. It's bad enough in baseball, attaching them to QBs just makes no sense to me.

Why not? They handle the ball every snap (except for certain wild cat plays, which we don't really use), and their success/failure almost always determines the outcome of the game (see Cincinnati game, for one).

QBs obviously have a huge impact on the game(most of the time) but there are other guys blocking, running and two other units playing D and special teams.

Look at Joe's game against NE in the play-offs last year. How in the world could anyone attach a win to his name after a game like that?

Stats are fun and they let you have some "facts" when arguing with opposing fans, but they are pretty much meaningless when it comes to the actual game. The stats do not win or lose you a game.

Some of you <people>, winning or losing is everything in competition. Which one of you likes losing in anything in life?
Thank you Joe for winning more than losing as our starting quarterback.

Jezzz, lets enjoy the win because we have great team with great QB. He didn't turn the ball over once and gave the running play an opportunity to shine.

Come one people, we win and is that matter to you?

Agreed. Wins/losses are much more of a team function than one sole player, even one as important as the QB. Trent Dilfer didn't win us that Super Bowl back in 2000...

That said, Joe Flacco is a good QB. You can even eliminate his 'record' from that, he's a good young QB..

That's interesting. I find that many people say that about certain qbs (Brady and Roethlisberger, for example), but then do a 180 for other guys (Peyton Manning, for instance). I'm not saying that you do that; it's just an observation.

If you dig deep enough, there are actually a lot of facts about Flacco that will blow you away. He's a very strange quarterback. His splits defy logic (especially in his rookie season) and his strengths and weaknesses seem to fluctuate wildly every year.

Boy, the Chicago game proves you right, today!

Todd Collins started. He completed 37% of his passes, threw 4 interceptions, and had a passer rating of 6!

And he WON! :34853_doh:

IMHO, wat really matters isn't that Flacco is good - which he is. What really matters is that he keeps getting better. Lots of guys show flashes their first few years but that drive in Pittsburgh was huge. Hopefully he keeps moving forward. He's gotten MUCH better against the blitz but needs to solve the Cover-2 or (more generally) drop coverage. But he's got good instincts, a huge arm, and the right mentality. Not every guy in the league can throw that pick and then come back with a game-winning drive.

But hey, don't listen to me - I was another guy who (dead serious) thought we might have been better off with Bulger ... right about now, looks like Joe's hip was the real problem last year. That and a lack of weapons.

Anybody have any idea how to cover three wideouts like our guys with a QB who can make any throw you ask of him with guys in his face? I don't.

Agree with that.
The Ravens are playing great as a team and is giving Flacco the opportunity to play well and he is taking advantage of it.

which goes to show that the QB position now has more to do with the success of our team than ever. We're no longer wining in Spite of the QB. We're winning BECAUSE of him.
