This is EXCELLENT news for the Ravens. Bengals and Browns both lost week 5. Week 6 the Bengals have a Bye and the Steelers face the Browns. As it stands right now the Ravens are two games ahead of the Steelers.

The loss that Cincinnati just sustained to TB is unbelievable! Never expected them to lose to Cleveland and then now to TB. I was on their boards a couple weeks ago and the Bengals' fans were talking about how easy it was going to be for their next few games. Well, they lost 2 "easy" games!

Wow.

The funny thing is that their next opponents (after the bye) had a combined record of 25-18 (as of week 4). In their next four games they'll face Atlanta, Miami, Pittsburgh, and Indy. Brace yourselves, Bengals.

The only downside to all of this is that the Ravens might finish the year with a loss to a sub .500 team.

That is no a 2 game lead. Isn't it a one game or a half game lead? I think it is only a half game lead over the Steelers since we have lost just as many, but have played one more game

http://www.nfl.com/standings?category=conf

Go ahead..check that out!
Based off that.... Here's what the AFC Playoff Picture would look like:

Division Winners:
1) Ravens (Home Field Advantage)
2) Chiefs(BYE)
3) Jets
4) Texans

Wild Card:
5) Steelers
6) Patriots(They only get since they are 3-1 and had a bye)

Edit: The Standings don't look updated though, the Rams still show a win streak of 2 when they lost to the Lions. We should have a better idea of what the conference would look like come tomorrow morning when all the Sunday Games are done.

Oh, come on now. Lets the fans have their fun.

I'm sitting here looking at the remainder of the schedule, in my opinion, with only three toss-up games left on the schedule and practically two bye-weeks coming up, I see us going 12-4 (worst case). Unless of course the whole machine just completely breaks down.

Who knows, maybe we could secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

My only question is, how the #*!! did we let Cincy beat us? They lost to the Bucs!!! The Bucs??
Divisional game on the road. It's always tough no matter how bad a team is. Their Cover 2 seems to give Joe and our O-Line fits.

We'll get our chance again at home.

Actually... yes it is a half game lead but divisional wins carry alot of weight so a win actually almost accounts for adding a game or so to the lead since the whole tie breaking process goes to who won the game between the two teams and we have the win over The Steelers.

Hope blooms eternal.... The Ravens have the right philosophy.... next week it is the <Pa>triots, one week season.... win them all , one week at a time.

I do like the prospect of Home Field throughout though, makes me all giddy inside....

when figuring the standings, we have a "2 game" lead over Pitt because we beat them heads up and we have also beat Cleveland, so that while Pitt has the same number of losses, they have only played one Divisional game and lost that. We are also 4-1 against the AFC, which also will play into standing as we go down the road and speaking of "road", we have two road victories against teams many "experts" pick as either divisional winners or wildcard picks.

Thw Ravens do have control of the AFC North for the time being as long as they stay tied or ahead of the Steelers until they meet again on December 5th in Baltimore they will maintain their one game lead in the division. However, it's still way too early to be sitting here saying the Ravens have total control over the AFC North just because they won a game against the Steelers in October. The Steelers are going to play 7 games before they meet the Ravens in December and the Ravens are going to play 6 games so a lot of things can happen between now and then. The key for the Steelers is going to be after they most likely take care of the Browns on Sunday they need to win at least 2 out of 3 in that 3 game roadtrip stretch coming after this week in Miami,New Orleans and Cincy. If they are able to do that they will be 6-2 at the midway point going into a stretch where they play the Patriots and Raiders at home and then go to Buffalo the week before they play the Ravens. If they go 2-1 in that stretch the Steelers will be 8-3 going into the Ravens game on December 5th. So as long as the Steelers win their 2 division games against the Browns this week and in Cincy on November 8th they will have the exact same division record as the Ravens going into their game with them on December 5th because the Ravens dont play another division game until they meet the Steelers in December and their record in the division will remain 2-1 up until that point.

That brings me to the Ravens upcoming schedule and the only potential losses I see on the Ravens schedule their next 6 games before they play the Steelers are either this Sunday in New England or at Atlanta in November on a Thursday night. The Ravens should beat the Bills,Miami,Carolina and Tampa Bay in their other 4 games. So let's just say the Ravens split the Atlanta and New England games and win all the other games like I said they would be 9-2 going into the matchup with the Steelers. And as I mentioned before as long as the Steelers can be 8-3 going into the Ravens game in Baltimore on December 5th and 2 of those losses not coming against the Browns or Bengals they and be one game behind the Ravens in the standings overall they will have the exact same division record as the Ravens and if they beat them in Baltimore in December they would jump ahead of them because the Ravens division record would then be 2-2 to the Steelers 3-1.

So hopefully everybody got what I was trying to say and I made my first posts on here worthwhile lol. Basically, in a nutshell it's going to all come down to that game in Baltimore on December 5th much like it did 2 years ago when the Steelers were a game up on the Ravens in the division in December and the Steelers beat the Ravens 13-9 in Baltimore and won the division and won the Super Bowl.

I could easily see the Steelers going 5-2 in their next 7 games and the Ravens going 5-1 in their next 6 games up until the game in December. If that is how it shakes out then both teams will be in great shape going into December. Both of these teams are going to be there in the end and neither is going away anytime soon Im totally convinced of that...

Looks like the Ravens "2" game in the AFC North is gone boys and girls. Not a surprise really though if you look at my post I wrote above I had mentioned that either this game with the Pats today or the Falcons game next month were one of the games the Ravens had a chance to lose and it happened today. I guess Mr Elite Flacco wasnt good enough today because watching him in the 4th quarter and overtime he looked like he rushed throws and was in complete panic mode. The Ravens offense completely <profanity deleted please read the Code of conduct> the bed in this game when they were up by 10 points. Wonder if we will see Harbaugh give Cam Cameron another game ball today like we did after the win against the Steelers and tell the Ravens team in the locker room like we saw on NFL Films that he has ice water in his veins I somehow doubt it lol...<NO SMACK>.

Congrats on handling the Browns and McCoy. Steelers "lead" in the AFC North will be short lived. We've played one more game than you and win a head-to-head at this point, don't get over confident.
