At this point it doesn't matter whether he retires or not. If he comes back for another season, great. If not, we'll be prepared. We already have the pieces in place. It's not like we will have to draft a tackle in the first round if/when Ogden retires.

This really isnt a surprise. He was leaning toward retirement last year. Whatever happens happens.

after all........i mean we've gone about throughout the course of this off-season as though he was retiring anyway right?..so its not like it's anything "new" and we were preparing for it. though he said he hasnt offically "retired"....and made the decision final (because he COULD decide to come back)...he said that if he feels as though he can go, he'll do it, if he feels like he cant well then he wont. its just that simple. and the Team knows that and respects that.

If J.O. is healthy then I hope he comes back, if he isn't I don't want to see him suffer through another rough season (injury-wise), he deserves better. One can't help to see that if he does retire, that opens up roughly $8M of cap space, perhaps enough to re-sign Sizzle long-term =/

No, its actually not that much according to an article someone posted a little while back. It would only open up at most 4 or 5 million.

Well, either way it's still a nice chunk of change

I think he should go. we have gaither and terry plus i think we should seek more depth in the draft or free agency. the man is troubled by a injury that has ended it for alot of players i dont think its gona go away he should bow out or assist the line coaching staff but we can use his money on a better investment

I would like to see Ogden come back, at the same time though, I think he should get out before he has any lifelong threats to his health.

agreed. its time for the young guys to take over and build their chemistry together.

this may play a role in his decision^. he knows that the offense as a whole is young and he may only have one year at best left in him, so he isn't sure he should risk further damage playing a year that not too many national press have high expectations for the ravens. i don't know, just thought about it, that's all?

thus i must re-itterate my tran of thought of Ogden retiring as a player...only to come back as a Coach for us and further his own mentoring to that of the younger generation, passing on what he knows, knew, learned,developed..the whole deal....that i can see...having significant benefits on both parts.
