Jameel McClain Story...

14 posts in this topic

I just stumbled upon an eye-opening story by Michael Silver on Jameel's early life and tough upbringing.(Link)

I'm still on the Ellerbe bandwagon since he's still better.

Still a sad story though.

Ellerbe hits harder in my opinion but I've been impressed with Jameel in all facets of the game this season.

IMO McClain is doing a very solid job and had a great game against the Steelers last week. I just seem to notice Ellerbe more on the field for some reason since he's always flying relentlessly to the ball.

One of the announcers described Ellerbe best saying he has that energy on defense.

He definitely brings an intensity.

After having read of what could be called a hardscrabble youth, I can now honestly say that Jameel Mcclain is the kind of player I want in the Baltimore Raven uniform - giving it all on the field every game day.

Jameel McClain's story came out after he made the final roster 2 years ago. It's funny because i actually thought about it watching Sports Unlimted last night.

I wonder what type of enviorment, and the feeling of the front office to have guys like McClain, Kurger and Oher, who all had life altering things that happened to them before finding there way in life. Even a guy like Stallworth who is still figthing his way back from his situation.

I was just wondering how proud a guy like Harbs is to have these men apart of his team, or if he even thinks about it at all.

It's interesting

Ellerbe probably is more suited to ILB but until he works his way out of Harbaugh's doghouse and/or Ray retires he's going to have to bide his time.

McClain however, has always had a knack for plays, I think his pass rushing background makes him very versatile as well, at OLB or with his hand in the ground on passing downs.

Jameel is a Testament to the American Dream , and the fact he doesnt forget where he came from . we need more like him maybe its that perseverance that can push us further then the playoffs . just imagine Shelter - Nfl Superbowl player him and michael oher would be doing all sorts of interviews after that
