At This Point, What's Our Season Record Gonna Be?

43 posts in this topic

Broncos:W-Focus on Orton and Stuff their non-existent running game. Flacco passes all over their defense.
Pats:W-Focus on Welker(especially with Moss gone)and let Ray Rice do his thang against their shaky run-defense.
Bills:W
Dolphins:W-wildcat never works on us. Blitz Henne and he'll make mistakes. Dolphins D is tough but we've played tougher.
Falcons: W-Falcons struggle with good D's. Another tough game but if we contain Turner and not let Roddy White play big, we should win.
Panthers:W
Bucs:W
Steelers:L-we don't fair well against Big Ben, never have. This will be another game down to the wire, but, as usual Ben will find a way to beat us unfortunately.
Texans:W-Let our receivers run wild this game and we should put up big points. (Try) and contain Arian Foster and hold Shaub to under 20 points and we should win.
Saints:L-If we are going to lose one out-of-division game, this, or the Pats will be it. We don't fair well against top tier QB's like Peyton Manning. Although the Saints are certainly looking vulnerable on defense, I don't see us winning this shoot-out.
Browns:W-tough game on the road, but it's the Browns..
Bengals:W-At home, with a whole season for our new receivers to find their niche against a consistently vulnerable Bengals D. It's payback time and we're fighting for the AFCN here.

Ravens (13-3) What do you guys think?

@ JETS (win)~~~~top 3 defense and offense showed decent potential
@ BENGALS (loss)~~~top 5 defense
BROWNS (win)~~~~break out game for us
@ PIT (win)~~~~tough game for our offense against that D, but batch or lefty prob starting
BRONCOS (win)
@ PATS (loss)~~~toss up game
BILLS (win)
DOLPHINS (win)
@ FALCONS (win)~~~~tough game but i like our offense vs. their def more than their offense vs. our defense
@ CAR (win)
BUCS (win)
STEELERS (loss)~~~i think we split with them a toss up game
@ TEXANS (loss)~~~ a toss up game
SAINTS (loss)~~~ a toss up game again i like Ravens offense VS. Saints D > Saints offense VS. Ravens D
@ BROWNS (win)
CIN (win)~~~~ we split with them

I have us 11-5 WORST case scenerio, with 4 toss up games (pats, steelers, texans, saints). And i think we could realistically win 2 of those 4... puting us at 13-3. Our offense will come into its own, and we will be a potent offense, and i see the D being tough like this all year.

I posted this 2 weeks ago i think. Only thing that has really changed is we have an even better chance to sure up a win vs. the Pats. I honestly believe worse case we're 11-5.

Just some things I noticed:

Welker isn't the only weapon the Pats have. I understand focusing on him but that would open room for someone like Hernandez.

The Dolphins barely run the Wildcat anymore.

The Browns have already played in Baltimore. The next game will be in Cleveland.

Going back to last year, the Bengals' D has only looked leaky at times against teams not named the Ravens. Until Joe figures out their version of the Cover-2, the Ravens will continue to struggle against Cincy. I have faith in #5 though.

We never have since 2007....

I see Texans beating us to be more likely than the Saints.

agreed. Unless we suffer about 4 season-ending injuries, or our team falls apart somehow, I HIGHLY doubt we lost more than 4-5 games.

As strange as that sounds, I agree, as long as Arian Foster doesn't revert to being a nobody.

Ahh,I was at the game how could I forget that!lol :34853_shakehead:
Anyways, with Henne looking mediocre (once again) this year, I see them throwing more wildcat into their playbook. That's their game.

As far as the pats go, with Moss gone, I trust in our pass coverage to contain their other wideouts not named Wes Welker. He's their bread and butter, and slot receivers always have the potential to put up big numbers on us.

I hope you're right on all those counts. Beating Miami and NE again would be sweet.

WIN SUN. OCT. 10th DENVER BRONCOS 1:00 PM Orton is still the same old nickel and dime man.
WIN Sun. Oct. 17th at New England Patriots 1:00 PM Ravens are no longer intimidated by having to go into New England. Add to that Moss' departure.
WIN SUN. OCT. 24th BUFFALO BILLS 1:00 PM It's the Bills.
Sun. Oct. 31st BYE
WIN SUN. NOV. 7th MIAMI DOLPHINS 1:00 PM
LOSE Thr. Nov. 11th at Atlanta Falcons 8:20 PM Toss-up game. Falcons are currently playing tough plus Ravens don't seem to like the lights much.

WIN SUN. NOV. 28th TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS 1:00 PM*
LOSE SUN. DEC. 5th PITTSBURGH STEELERS 8:20 PM* We usually take a split with the Steelers when they don't sweep us - another toss-up - another under the lights game.
LOSE Mon. Dec. 13th at Houston Texans 8:30 PM I think we have what it takes to beat Houston but it's still those dang lights!
WIN SUN. DEC. 19th NEW ORLEANS SAINTS 1:00 PM* As long as our D continues to play well. I like our offense vs Saints' D.
WIN Sun. Dec. 26th at Cleveland Browns 1:00 PM* Road game and the Browns' are improved but we will be ready for Hillis this time.
WIN SUN. JAN. 2nd CINCINNATI BENGALS 1:00 PM*

12-4 Win division. Steelers go 11-5 probably get a WC.

I would love nothing more than to see the road to the championship come through B-more. That would be the next best thing to making it to the SB and then going on to winning it. But, I feel the road stops short if we lose more than 3 and are forced into away games.

I would have to say that, based on the evidence at hand, as well as the remaining schedule and the return of Big Ben, that we are looking at an 11-5 record - for the most part.

We could possibly be a 12-4 team, depending on how we treat Big Ben in the return game in Baltimore.

The Texans is more of a balance team than the Colts because the Colts running is sort of mediocre.

This year, I think we might lose to the Steelers and Texans.

I know the Pats just got rid of Moss, but I just realized we'll be playing them after their bye week at there place.

Giving someone like Belichick an extra week can be disastrous for the opponent. Especially after what we did to them last year. Plus they will be trying to prove they don't need Moss.

Historically, when Brady and Belichick are trying to prove a point or get redemption, they usually succeed.

Before the Moss trade I thought this would be the hardest game of the season. I wouldn't consider that anymore, but its still in the top 3.

This reminds me of last years setup in the playofffs, everyone was talking about how long its been since the Patriots lost a playoff game at home.
