Ed Reed's Neck

40 posts in this topic

Prior to the season starting, everyone was talking about Ed recovering from his hip surgery. However there was very little said about his neck injury/recovery. I recall seeing in a press conf were Ed stated that he should have had surgery on his neck but chose to focus on his hip instead. Has anyone heard any report about his neck's condition?

The neck injury will always be around. Its not going to go away, he's living and playing with it. He'll probably take care of it when he's ready to call it a career. The main concern was the hip. Get that hip healthy and you have Ed Reed ready to go.

I seriously think we can run a wildcat option with Ed Reed...
[/quote]

Just no. Same reason why I hate seeing him return punts. I don't want to see him get blindsided hit and go away for ever. Plus to run the wildcat you really need a guy who's a dual threat that can pass and run. It's just crazy talk.

Did you really take him serious with the " Ed in Wildcat " talk? Pretty sure he was just kidding around with that talk.

Based on his previous comments, I think he was dead serious.

Seems like it, but its actually been 5 months and a week. Unless, you're insinuating he was registered as someone else in a past life.....

Hey, hey, hey.... hang on a second. Have you EVER seen Ed Reed miss on a lateral? The guy probably has a perfect passer-rating when throwing a lateral. If not, I bet it's darn close!

How dare any of you question the abilities of Uncle Earl!

But yes, as others have stated... the neck injury will never fully heal. He just has to play through it. His hip is obviously much better since he had been doing exercised and drills as far back as training camp... and he asked the NFL to allow him to come off the PUP list early. They denied him, but he's clearly ready to get back on the field. I expect his conditioning to be just fine, and he'll be a force in coverage immediately... as for the tackling... we'll see how that goes.

A possible drinking game? Each time he makes a ridiculous comment, everybody has to take a shot.

Haha, Ed was actually really good when speaking with the media until this offseason. Something went awry in his head and he started shooting from the hip. He seems to have gotten under control though, or placed under control :th_327321_Spy_23x22:
