13+ Wins?

44 posts in this topic

Not to get ahead of ourselves of course, but looking at our schedule I really think we can beat all these teams maybe win out, we got the Bengals and Steelers at home now we dont have to worry about Heinz field they both gotta worry about M & T Bank stadium.

Week 13, If we got the Steelers coming into our stadium as a 10-1 Baltimore team (with reed back) that stadium is gonna be absolutely nuts. By the way its a sunday nighter.

We might not even need the week 17 game vs cinci but i'd like to win that one anyway.

No reason why our Ravens shouldnt be atleast 12-4 or 13-3 by the end of the year.

I predicted 12-4 before the season started and they have showed they can win 12 games if the team plays at a high level...I say minnimum 10 wins

I just hope we end up 4-1 at around 4 pm Sunday.
We should be able to, I respect Denver but them being last in the league in running the ball puts alot of pressure on Orton against our #1 pass D.

Sanchez whos had over 100 passer rating in every game couldnt even break 80 yards passing against us. I'm confident.
I wouldn't use the jets game as a compression the way they look just doesn't make sense to the way our d stopped them i think we got Sanchaz scared. And we haven't played a good pass d yet so that #1 pass d is not legit yet imo. and due to the fact that our pass rush is not great Orton could have a big game.

Well as Ray Lewis says "One game at a time"

Everything changes week by week in the NFL and you make the right adjustments. Never write any team off--just look at the Browns winning against the Bengals, or the Jaguars beating the Colts. No guarantees!

I do think the Ravens will have to win 11/12 games if they want to take the division from the Steelers or Bengals.
No one is. But Palmer is not that good as in say 06 and he never has amazing stats against us im not saying our #1 pass defense is a joke or anything i just don't think we have been tested yet to earn that tittle.

I figured we would be around 11-5 to 13-3, and 11-5 with wins against the teams we should beat, I figure 12-4/13-3 would happen if we got some wins against teams we shouldn't have beat and we got that win yesterday when we beat the Steelers so we have one win in a game that we could have lost.

Amazingly looking at our schedule, if we can get by NE and win that one, wow we'll have a shot at 14-2. Look at our next opponents up to the home game with the Steelers:

Broncos
Patriots
Bills
Dolphins
Falcons
Panthers
Buccaneers

At the end of this(Week 8 Bye) we could be 10-1 if we beat NE or 9-2 if we lose to the Patriots. This is going to be a good stretch for us because every game is winnable except the Patriots which is a toss up.

After that we have ourselves some crucial matchups with the Steelers, Texans, Saints and Bengals. I didn't include the Browns because well they are the Browns. Looking at how things are going, if the Texans can win the division the winner of the Ravens-Texans game could be for a higher seed in the AFC Playoffs, and certainly the Steelers game will probably help seal who will win the Division depending on the Bengals. 13 wins is very doable.

Okay Saints which will be tough. They have had two tough divisional games, just like we struggled against Browns and Bengals. And the Dolphins are lookin hot this year. If it wasn't for the Jets I would say they're division champ material. And I don't think Falcons will be easy at all. They are not a bad team at all, they beat the Saints and didn't look bad against the Steelers for it being first game of the season.

I actually like us over the Saints at home. It'll be December and cold. Last year they didn't have any December/November games on the road in the cold (that weren't dome teams). Plus the AFC is looking strong and the NFC is looking weak this year. I like our chances at home. We should even be favorite.

The Falcons are doing very well this season, especially Matt Ryan. The Patriots and Dolphins provide us with a significant threat too. The Texans shouldn't be a worry, though. I expect at least 11-5 for Baltimore thi season!

Yeah you have some good points there. I guess it is just hard to look at the defending Super Bowl champs, who have Drew f'in Brees and see "win" lol. But I guess its hard for them to look at us, see our D and our improved offense and not be a little worried lol. And it is only week 4, Brees IS on the cover of Madden :deadhorse:

I firmly believe that without homefield advantage last year, the Saints would not have won the superbowl

You really think that homefield advantage played that big of a factor even though it was not officially a home game for either team? I think the big difference maker was that onside kick to start the second half

This one just bothers me. Hopefully my fears dissipate over the next week or so, but they have that Brady dude, and he's pretty good. God, I can't stand the Patriots...yuck!

Well first of all the Jets had handcuffs on Sanchez that first game against us, so you can't even use that as an example. You would of thought that Cincy was the first test for a potential pass thrashing against our defense, but I don't know if I would say we were that great against it, or Palmer was that bad! One things for certain and two things for sure, we will find out this Sunday if this #1 pass defense label is legit. I also believe that we will have to win the division this year to secure a playoff spot, I don't think the wild card is going to cut it this year. As of right now the AFC is going to be crazy come the end of the season, if all the teams continue to do what their doing now. I mean you got Baltimore, Pittsburgh for sure, Jets are looing like no slouch and the Pats will be there as well. Colts 9 times out of 10 and maybe the Texans might surprise. Kansas City might be the surprise in the west with the Bolts hanging around as well. Now if all this sticks through out the rest of the regular season, a division is a must. AFC is a vicious conference and there will be alot of teams fighting at the end of the season, for playoff spots!

AT New England, AT Atlanta (a team I underestimated earlier in the year), as well as games against Pittsburgh, Cincinatti, and the Super Bowl Champion Saints?

I can't see 13 wins. 12 if we're lucky, 11's more likely. Wouldn't be surprised to see us go 10-6 either though. It's all going to depend on whether or not this offense can "click" like we've seen them do on the second half opening drive against the Bengals, and the game winning drives against the Browns and Steelers.

EDIT: Forgot to mention AT Houston, and AT Cleveland, a team that nearly beat us in our own house.

It's something to think about, but for our sanity, let's stick with the one game at a time principle. #1 passing offense coming up next week. We haven't faced a REAL passing attack yet thus far. Sanchez, no. Palmer, underperforming as usual, though I'm proud of how we contained TOcho. Wallace, no. Batch, no. Orton provides a solid challenge, probably our greatest thus far. Surprising, yes, but don't sleep on these guys.

I don't know.
I hope we can pull off 13 wins, but it's too early yo tell.
Anything can happen.
First we need to get over the Broncos, which I think we will.

These are the games I'd be weary about, right now, (which doesn't make sense...)

Pats - Always a tough game, plus it's on the road.
Dolphins - It's a home game, but they are still a good team this year so far.
Falcons - The Falcons are a really good team this year, and we'll be coming off a very short week, as this is a Thursday Night game in Atlanta.
Steelers - Always a tough game, home field advantage or not.
Texans - Houston at home, if their team is healthy, this will be a huge challenge, even though Houston's defense is giving up a lot of points, their offense is putting up a lot.
Saints - Even though it's at home, it'll be a tough game.
Browns - We slept on them last time and almost lost at home, I think the Browns will be a good team (.500ish) at this point in the season, and it's at Cleveland.
Bengals - It's at home which is good, but when do we ever beat them?
