Heh, he's just like Cutler!! I hope and expect a great win for the Ravens: 31-21. Cutler, I mean Orton will throw a lot of longshot TD passes but his offense will struggle to run once they have the ball. But Flacco will kick Orton to the curb with a stellar performance! :argdancingravensblueonwkk8:

I notice you, sometimes, have these colored slogans on your posts.. Are you trying to make that your signature?

Just asking, an honest question, we're here to help.

I dunno, it's about Kansas City too which is kinda odd, the Colts play KC this week.. I'm hoping he responds so that he doesn't have to copy/paste every time he posts.

i know how to make a signature, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Anyway, I change it sometimes if something out of the ordinary happens, like Peyton losing to the Jaguars! :wootwoot: Thanks for the offer though! BTW, KC is going to shred Peyton and his colts! Expect a lightning quick game, something like 45-39.

If Ray Lewis & co. can stop Orton's long passes, then Baltimore will deliver a much more humiliating defeat! BTW, does anyone have stats or analysis for the Bronco's defensive line?

We have to make Orton feel uncomfortable. Suggs has to have a good game. It doesn't look like Ngata will be stopping many runs so he has to work at getting to the QB. (which he has done from the inside this year)

I don't have statistics on their d-line but I know they have big Jamal Williams, solid vet Kevin Vickerson and former underrated Raven Justin Bannan starting.

I really won't be surprised if the running game doesn't get going this week.

The deep balls are going to scare me. Batch only went downfield a few times, one was caught for a huge gain and there couldve been a few more if not for Webb's heroics. Having Reed back there would've been awesome for this game. : (

Well they did pretty good against Chris Johnson, but lately, who hasn't?

The Steelers did but the Giants and Oakland couldn't.

Regardless, the Broncos shutting down C.J. is no small feat and after seeing their personnel, I know why they did.

I always thought Orton didn't really have that long ball arm. Did he all of a sudden develop some arm strength this season?
He may not do it often, but he can go deep when needed. The man can put some heat on the ball too.

Even if Orton airs it out and lights us up, I still believe Flacco and our offense would be able to keep up and score enough points to win. It's getting harder and harder to doubt Flacco, even when Denver has Goodman, Bailey and Dawkins. That's a lot of talent in the secondary, but not much to show for it on gameday in terms of stopping the pass. I mean they're pass D is ranked 17th in the league right now which is average, but the only top tier QB they've faced so far is Peyton.

I think it will be a blowout for a lot of reasons.

First reason is, I don't think your offense will be effective at all against our defense. I see no matchups on offense that favor the Broncos; the only possible exception is Lloyd/Washington, although if it is Lloyd/Carr I think he'll be negated too.

Second reason is that when I compare the two offenses and review each position, there is honestly not one single player that I feel Denver is better than us, other than RG and RT (Gaither is going to miss this game to, else I would have said just RG).
Speaking of our offense, as I said earlier, it is really starting to hit it's stride. Which is scary, for any defense. How is Denver going to contain Boldin, Mason, Houshmandzedah, Heap AND Rice? Simply put, they're not. Especially not when your best pass rusher is hurt and not playing. How does Denver plan on stopping McGahee in the red zone? I truly believe if we swapped schedules for the first month of the season, Baltimore would probably be leading the NFL in nearly every relevant offensive statistic, and Denver would be in the lower third, somewhere around 20th. After playing 3 of last year's top 5 defenses in the first month of the season, our offense is licking it's chops knowing they're not just going up against a middle of the road defense, they're facing a middle of the road defense minus it's best pass rusher and a starting CB. Flacco is going to shred that defense, so will Rice, so this game will turn into a shootout. And I'm sorry, until it happens, no one will convince me that Kyle Orton, Eddie Royal and Brandon Lloyd will rip our defense apart.

The only way I see Denver winning this would be for them to beat us on the ground, and force some turnovers, because I will take Flacco/Boldin/Mason/Housh/Heap over Orton/Royal/Lloyd/et al any day of the week. And that scenario is very unlikely, given Denver's problems running and our normally stout run defense.

Oh, and we're at home.
Yeah man. You are WAY to biased to talk football with apparently.

Have fun thinking all of that, because frankly most of it is ridiculous and obviously you don't know much about Denver.

It's a Ravens board, I understand that, but this reply is EXTREMELY biased, whereas other posters on this board will actually engage in a decent convo.

Yeah. I also truly believe that he has been a little "scared" most of his career. He has always had to play to "keep" his job. He has always had someone breathing down his neck, and no real comfortable "starting" job.

He got a big $ extension, and now he knows he has our job. So he has played like a QB, and not being scared to make the risky throws or expand his game.

@orangeandblue19 Truly not trying to down your team. I guess it is that I heard all this last year about Denver. True that then it was more your defense that they focused on but they also touted Orton as well. I realize that Orton can throw a long ball. Sometimes even accurately but most of his yardage comes from checkdowns, screens and short dumps across the middle. Just like last year.

Conversely, the Ravens secondary has not yet been truly tested this season IMO. Of course, our secondary was our weakness last season when we faced your team as well.

I just feel that the Broncos are much the same team they were last season. And the Ravens are better than they were last season. If the Ravens stick to the same game plan as last year, I think they will dominate. Again, it is just my opinion.

Now that its obvious they have no run game and the entire offense is short passes lets just rush three and put 6 DBs and 2 LB out there.

(rotation)

Gregg, Ngata, Suggs (Redding)(McKinney)
Ray, Ellerbe (McClain)
Zbi, Landry, Haruki, Webb, Carr, Fabian, (Wilson)

You've got all your best pass defenders out there.

Yes, we still do throw a lot of screens and short routes, but we also are 2nd in the NFL in 20+ yard passes, and 1st in 40 yard passes. Orton is really looking down field this year, because he isn't scared anymore, like I said in a previous post.

Our defense is much different than it was last year. We have BEEFED up our front 3 starting with Jamal Williams - and also Vickerson and Bannan have helped a lot. Our LB core definitely isn't what it was last year with DOOM, but Ayers is playing GREAT this year and is a huge asset in stopping the run, and so is DJ Williams.

I just don't think it will be a blowout last year. Our run defense is greatly improved. Our secondary is pretty damn good, just old, so we aren't as "quick" but with rookie perrish cox he brings a great speed.

I'm not saying we are going to win by any means, I just don't see it being a blowout at all. I think its between a 3-7 point victory to be honest.

Any given Sunday though, we will find out soon enough :)

We are 2nd in the league in 20+ yard passes and 1st in 40+ yard passes, just sayin'.

Some of those are screens and what not, but we are not afraid to fire down field like we were last year.

Also sounds like Moreno will be back, which helps our run game a lot, even though we will still suck because of our o-line run blocking.

You do realize that will change with Moreno in the lineup not Maroney, right?

While Moreno isn't extremely threatening. If we just play the pass, he could make some plays to the outside.

He's not feared yet, but I think he will be someday.

If he was in our old ZBS he would be crazy dangerous, but our new power blocking scheme just hasn't work out at all, every RB hits a wall right away, at least Moreno can hurdle and dodge, but that is how he keeps getting hurt :(

I actually like Moreno, but a lot of people are down on him. He just needs to stay healthy. He's very explosive, but his explosiveness seems to cause him injuries. As the injuries mount, that playmaking ability diminish.

We are about to watch Torain succeed in the ZBS w/ Shanny again.

Oh ya, Torain is going to kill it as long as he stays healthy, I was very high on him 2 years back, but one injury, IR, gone next season.

Moreno is very explosive, I just think he has had "bad" luck so far in the injury department. A lot of people think last year wasn't a good year for him, due to how high he was drafted, but in all honesty he did just fine.

I hope he turns out to be a great, but only time will tell. I just hope he can stay healthy the rest of the year, first and foremost.
