We didn't know his name, so we googled the show and found it out...
Then we didn't feel like waiting for him lol so we left to some store, then 20 minutes later we were driving by that place again and a few blocks away we see cameras and stuff and him... we bust a u turn and meet up with him lol...
I said hey brad i love your show, yadda yadda...
he was a funny nice guy... we offered him dog food (my cousin is a dog food salesman) and he told us a story about how he put peanut butter on his dingledangle so the dog could lick it for hours... didn't know he was that dirty!!!!
took some pics too, lol.

and thats my random name drop story..

black jerseys? me likey the white away ones... or the purple... but black? bleh...

I read your post and still don't see how it is a good thing to play a divisional opponent in the first quarter of the season..

and its not like you demolished the steelers.

the only explanation you gave as to why its an advantage was because you get to see where your team is at... how would that be an advantage?

the chargers played the chiefs... i don't see how that coulda helped them in the other games.

but yeah you really didn't explain it very well... or at all.

maybe someone can chime in?
If you don't understand the importance of playing a divisional game, and how your team benefits from it, then there is no way I can explain it to you, or if you're even willing to listen.

This game will be my second live pro football game EVER! First time seeing the Ravens. I am traveling from Cincinnati to see this home game and hopefully we can pull it out. I am excited to see the bank and make it LOUD! A great test for our secondary!

First time at M&T. Is should be a lot of fun, the bank always is. You'll see what a real home field advantage is all about. Make sure to get loud.

I'll second a JJ stick, or something to the same effect first play. That will make the place shake.

An early sack would be perfect. Make Orton uncomfortable early and maybe we'll see a few INTs.

Looking forward to the game! Can't wait for Sunday. May be a dumb question but seeing we played you guys are your place last year, how did that work out where we play you there again Sunday?

The Ravens are 4-0 all-time against the Broncos when playing in Baltimore, winning by an average of 18 points.

I really don't know. Like we always seem to play at Gillette stadium.

All good things must come to and end and I hope the Raven's winning streak at home versus the Broncos does as well this Sunday!;-D

Well if it makes you feel any better in the Ravens history we have played 4 regular season games against you in Denver and 4 in Baltimore. Including the prior (before 2009) two matches in 2005 and 2006.

So I guess it works itself out.
By the way the trend looks. We'll probably have to play the next two games in Denver. Probably 2012 & 2013

Moreno out Sunday.... Hopefully our O-line will be able to give Orton a little time to pass because he will be doing a lot of it on Sunday....

If I'm not mistaken, the home location is alternated every time we play your division every 4 years. Since the game was played in Baltimore last year, that means we played in Denver back in 2005, and we'll play in Denver again in 2013.

This years game I believe is based off of last year's divisional ranking. We were second in the AFC North, so we play the team that was second in the AFC West. They must use the divisional game's location to balance out everyones home/away games and that is probably why you are back in Baltimore this year. The league probably couldn't get us enough home games if we played in Denver this year.

I cant confirm it (not enough time to research since I'm at work), but that is my best guess.

It seems logical since we always seem to play the Pats in Foxboro when we're scheduled to play them due to division ranking.

If you guys are forced to drop back and 50+ times it will bad for you imo. It's hard for any team to come into Baltimore and beat the Ravens being one dimensional, as the Ravens generally do a great job of taking a teams best asset away from them.

Even Peyton Manning and Tom Brady led offenses struggle when the Ravens make them one dimensional. What usually bails those guys out is the lack of offense on the Ravens side of things. I don't think that will be a problem this year.

Ideally the Broncos should wanna attempt about 35 passes in this game. Anything over that will play heavily into the Ravens hands imo. Orton will have to establish a early rythme on offense because the Ravens will treat him just like Manning, Brady or Brees, and keep him sitting on the sidelines.

I look for the Ravens to run a no huddle offense to try and take advantage of you guys being a westcoast team playing a early game. While they will run a no huddle, it won't be a quick pace no huddle, it'll be more of a ball control clock eating offense.

Even though you guys are the #1 ranked passing offense in the NFL, if the Ravens can build a double digit lead early, it's be really hard for you guys to get back into the game.

My honest opinion, homerism aside, is that the Ravens are one of the elite teams in the AFC this year. Because of that i think it will be hard for the Broncos to overcome everything working against them in this game. I look for it to be a tight first half but for the Ravens to pull away in the second half much like we did last season.

I think you have that confused with NFC teams. We only play 1 NFC division per year and home games alternate every 4 years. But we play Denver on a more regular basis because we are both AFC teams. 2005,2006,2009,2010

Good post! I agree with a lot of it. I do believe Orton will have over 50 passes this game. I also believe at least 10-15 of those will be short dumps or screens to the running backs and slot receiver. It will be a great measuring stick no doubt to see where exactly we stand.

On the defensive side of the ball we need to limit the big plays. That seems to be a weak point for us this year. I expect this game to be a 10+ point victory... Just not sure which side that goes to?:-D

I'm pretty confident about our chances, actually it's the first time I've had this much confidence in our team for a long time.

I agree and I hope we're both right because my heart can't handle another game like last week's. The Broncos deserve credit for what they've accomplished thus far, but I like how we match up against them.

I think I'm a little less confident about this game than I was when the Browns came to town.

Me too. I was more confident about the Browns even though I knew it was a tough divisional game. The fact that Moreno is out helps us greatly. Its not like he would do much about anything anyways. But the knowledge that Maroney will be running the rock doesn't scare anybody, especially our defense.

Maroney can be brought down by one Ngata arm. Therefore a commitment to stop the run can take a back seat.

Yea i think Orton will have to get the ball out of his hands quick in this game. Those dumps and screens won't be as successful because even though the Ravens will blitz alot in this game, it'll be with 3,4 or 5 guys at the most, so that'll still leave no fewer then 6 guys back in coverage. Also guys like Ngata, Suggs, and Johnson do a extremely good job of sniffing out screen plays.

On the offensive side for us will be the key in this game imo. The Ravens offense has started somewhat fast in 3 of the 4 games we've played so far, but because of turnovers, and penalties those drives have stalled with the exception of the Browns game. The key to me will be which offense can get their early groove.

If the Ravens offense can start to find the endzone on their opening 2 possesions instead of turning the ball over or having penalties stall their drive, they'll allow the defense to start playing with a double digit lead early, and that's a bad thing for opposing offenses.

I think the Ravnes are clearly the better team and it'll be up to the Broncos to keep the game close in order to have a chance to win at the end. Flacco and the offense is starting to click, which is evident by the 100 yards passing in the first quarter vs the Steelers last week. If the Ravens can put early TDs on the broad and allow that crazy crowd at the Bank to get even louder, it'll be hard for Orton and the offensive line to make adjustments to the blitzes the defense will bring.

The Ravens have to put Orton in a position where he feels he has to push the ball down the field to stay in the game, and when that happens that's when the turnovers and sack opportunities will come. The Defense just has to capitalize and make the play.

Some great points and posts everyone! The Bronco passing offense is obviously clicking so having any kind of running game will be a key. Obviously we haven't been able to do that at all this year. Still amazes me that we are so ineffective running the ball! On the defensive side, Denver needs to force a couple turnovers. What I am most nervous about this week is the special teams play. Gave up the 98 yard return for a TD last week and Ravens have a better attack on return imo. Here's to a good, injury free game! Great getting some good insight here everyone and it's appreciated :drums: Just had to choose the banana drummer!

The AFC division games alternate between home and away as well.

The reason we seem to play the Broncos alot is because both of our teams are often 2nd in our divisions.

I found this link which explains NFL schedule rotation:

http://www.footballinjuries.com/rotation.htm

In a nutshell:

Each team play their division teams twice
(Bengals, Steelers, Browns)

Each team will then play a separate AFC and NFC division that rotates every year.
(This is year we play AFC East and NFC South)

Each team will play 2 teams from the same conference, but from the divisions the team isn't
scheduled against, based on division standings from the previous year.
(2nd place of AFC South - Houston, and 2nd place from AFC West - Denver)

Sorry, not trying to steer this off topic. Just trying to clarify MileHighFish's question back on the last page :)

On Topic:

I do like the Ravens in this matchup. I can't add anything more than what everyone else has said though. Denver being one dimentional will hurt them against our defense ultimately because we know how they plan to move the ball. Apply pressure with our base front, maybe occasionally blitz an extra, and drop the rest in coverage and dare Kyle to throw.

I think we have the edge in special teams too, not because it is particularly good, only because on returns, we do a pretty good job with that. But our return game hasn't been nearly as effective as I'd like to see it.

Watch our punter, Sam Koch (hopefully you dont see much of him at all haha)! Dude is probably the best punter in the game, if ever it is fun watching a punt, it's when he's on the field.
