Merged--Denver: Week 5

662 posts in this topic

The Broncos have one of the top pass offenses in the NFL. Can our D continue shutting teams down? Will our Ravens keep the momentum rolling into next week? Last year we convincingly beat the 6-0 Broncos 30-7.

The Broncos have one of the best passing offenses, they are terrible when trying to run the ball.

It'll be a big test for our secondary and pass rush. I hope the Ravens make the best of it.

Denver is by far worse than they were last year. Though Orton has evolved into a real passing threat, our surprising number 1 rated pass defense should hold its own.

The Ravens seem to struggle with great QB's (Manning, Rogers, Brees types) or Hyper physical o-lines (Cleveland, Cincinnati). Denver has neither. Chalk this one up for the Ravens.

Ravens typically do well against the Broncos. Orton is a threat but they have no run game. They stop Orton, they stop the Broncos. Simple as that.

I personally think the Broncos passing numbers are as good as they are partially because they have played against teams with terrible passing defenses. They played the Jaguars, Seahawks, Colts, and Titans, who are ranked 29th, 30th, 20th and 5th in passing defense.

They didn't see a good passing defense until today, but Orton did throw for 341 yards against the Titans...

This is a game that the Ravens should definitely win. The Broncos don't have a running game and I think Orton will have a long day with Suggs and Kruger in his face.

Every game is a concern of losing, but I'm confident with our Ravens win for this one. If we can pass the test of stellar Steelers defense, we can score high with Denver defense. However, don't understimate Denver because they can throw the ball well. We need to bring A game....

The only threat they really have at WR is Eddie Royal. He's one fast dude, I was thinking before we got Q and Housh that maybe we could go out and trade for Royal somehow, but now i'm glad we didn't.

I am going to that game !!!!!!!!!
The Ravens are 19-2 on games I have attended.

I think our secondary will be ready.

I predict a pick for Webb.

Josh McDaniel probably will never forget what we did to them last season. He was in the highest peak of the mountain, but BLAP!, they lose 30-7.

I'm sure Josh has some surprising play call made just for us. Don't sleep on this game!

Yeah, but he got sacked around 6 times and hit 12 other times and had 50+ attempts! Our guys should be salivating.... boy do we miss Reed though.

with our running game slightly injured, how is Denvers pass defense ?

Will this be a more of a passing game or business as usual?

The Broncos will air it out and while the Ravens' CBs have played fairly well, it'll be interesting to see if they can handle Royal, Gaffney, Lloyd and Thomas. Pressure will be key. I know the Broncos have good tackles but if their interior line is weak, it could be a long day for Orton.

Offensively for the Ravens, I'm not worried. After Bailey, there is no one in their secondary to fear going after. I don't know if their run D has improved but if not, the Ravens could finally rack up some yards on the ground.

The most important thing in this game is pressure. If not bothered, Orton can light up a defense. Bring some fire to his face, and he becomes very ordinary.

I think we are going to light up Denver's defense this week.

They are 21st in points (21.2), 17th in YDS (322.8) 17th in pass yds (221) and 12 in run defense (101).

Their passing game has been racking up a lot of yds, but they have been playing pretty weak pass defenses so far.

With the Ravens coming home after a win IN Pittsburgh, you know M&T is going to be LOUD, so I don't expect Denver's offense to keep going at the pace they are. To beat the Ravens you have to be able to play good defense AND run the ball. The Broncos do neither.

We definitely can't sleep on them and it will be yet another test for our secondary but I think we should be able to win. Since their offense seems to be pass first this would probably be a good game to activate Josh Wilson, he's got a lot of speed to cover guys. Even though their running game is lackluster, our front seven needs to make sure it continues to be that way. I also don't see why our offense can't pick apart their defense. I think we should dominate and someone else earlier I think said we'll win 17-10 but I'm hoping to dominate the scoreboard as well as just on the field. Though I love the wins, I'm getting a little tired of these close games. Whoever's attending the game, get loud.

I'm not sold on this "Denver offensive juggernaut" bit...who have they played again? But speaking of offense, this week is shaping up to be our offense's coming out party. I dont do this often, but I'll go ahead and do it now; I'm fully anticipating our first blowout of the season. We will eat Orton for lunch, and there's not much they can do to stop us from shredding that defense of their's.

Remember Webb took it to the house last year? One of my favorite play. Hopefully Parmele can break one!
