Ravens Positives And Negatives From Week 4

10 posts in this topic

Positives : Joe Flacco - showed exceptional poise throughout the game, didnt get down after not getting the go ahead score on the previous drive, didnt hold the ball too long and threw it away when no one was open.

O-line.............TREMENDOUS job. Kept Pittsburghs LBs in check. Only one holding penalty on Oher if i can remember correctly. Also the RBs and TEs did great in the blitz pickup department giving Joe time to step into his throws and keeping him off his backside.

Cam Cameron..... Felt like he did a great job play calling minus the last two plays on the previous drive before the TD when we had it 3rd and goal from the 2 in obvious 4 down territory and we throw twice instead of running. But overall i think he did a good job.

Negatives : Fabian Washington - this guy is simply not good, sorry to say it. He is very soft and not a good tackler or coverage guy. The play he gave up to Randel El during the replay he didnt even know where the ball was, he was just running and looking into the sky with his arm sticking out to the side hoping he could feel the receiver. I want to see Josh Wilson eventually take his spot because he is fast and a very physical tackler and has great awareness ( see the hit he put on Clevelands RB James Davis last week )

Tom Zibikowski in the return game - Dude has no explosiveness whatsoever and dosent know where he is on the field from time to time. Please put someone else back there like Wilson who is a natural return guy. If Webb wasnt banged up i would say to put him back there possibly.

Turnovers on our side of the field....... We cant keep turning the ball over and having our Defense bail us out or the opposing teams FG kicker shanking kicks. I love our D but i dont wont them to get worn out. Luckily Reed missed both of those FGs .........

Overall a great win and im still pumped up! GO RAVENS

nice summary.i can agree with you on every point. i wouldn´t get too hard with fabe. don´t forget that he had also a very serious injurie last year. the td saveing tackle was huge though also he shouldn´t gave up that play..
the defense as a whole was unbelievable. if they continue to play like that we shouldn´t worry about any opponent.i know that the big tests for our secondary will come later the season, maybe even next week but our pass rush seems to be solid and puts enough pressure on the qb that the receivers can´t beat our corners...

i agree with the punt returns. they are solid but nothing special.but i don´t wanna see webb do that job because he is way too important as a corner. wilson or carr could do that as well...

Okay, so everyone is busting on fabe, so lets put this theory to the test.I challenge anyone to look up the number of catches and yards fabian has given up this season, post them here, then lets talk about how fabian cant play coverage.

you really like fabe fly, do you? :-)
i don´t think he played bad this season like i just sais: he had a major injury last year. all around he is doing a pretty solid job...i don´t think anybody is hating on him. especially after a win at ketchup field

Not that i like him (i do) just dont like seeing him getting a bad rap when he doesnt deserve it.Last year, fabe sucked. No ifs, ands or buts about it.This year, much, much better. His coverage has been very good so far. TO had nothing for him, Cotchery couldnt handle him, cleveland was limited by him and other than one long catch pittsburgh didnt have much luck with him either.

Lardarius Webb had a phenomenal game.

The pass intended for Mike Wallace that he ripped out in the endzone was a thing of pure beauty.

I agree 100%. Over all great job all the way around. Love the way Flacco took what the pitt D gave him early the took Boldin away, he found Mason, They took Mason away he found Boldin, if they were not there Heap was and when everyone forgot. TJ was standin in the endzone with the game winning catch. Ngata what can you say a Beast. Hats off to entire defense. Webb will be a monster at CB. Off sides penelties bothered me the most. Kruger had a rough day, and sizzle got caught a few times too. A W in Pittsburg 3-1 with 3 of first 4 on the road. This team is and will continue to be special.

Every time Zibby cathces the ball, I cringe. Parmele did a fair job, but I would also like to see a Webb (not Webb, someone like him) do the job. Zib just seems to intent on making a great run rather than just doing a good job.

Great game, a few improvements needed
Returns- Reed#16 i have been calling for him to do returns for weeks sorry ziggy
would have like to try running on the 2 yrd line on 3 and 4th down orsomething other than a fade Joe didn't seem to have a fade touch.
Stop the running got 2 TD on Running.
But all in all i love the game it showed joe is working towards the right path if he can do this week after week it should be fun!!
