Raven False Starts Not Called

78 posts in this topic

I'm on the Steeler message board and they are all complaining, and I quote, "of at least 15 uncalled false start penalties" on us. They single out Michael Oher a lot and claim that on our game winning TD to Housh we false started as well.

Did anyone else see anything? I personally think its just sour grapes.

but hey don't use something like that as an excuse.

No he is not false starting, Oher has arguably the quickest first step of any Tackle in the league, this was something the Ravens were actually wary of him in practices. They didnt know if the Refs were going to be on Oher's first step. Its something that actually hurts him at times with pass rushers, because he kicks out so fast that he at times sets the edge and his own angle too far.

Oher's get-off is very quick, at times too early. If the refs wanted to, they'd call it all day but considering they didn't, I don't care.

I didn't realize he was that good off the snap. It will be interesting to see Oher go up against the best speed rusher in the league in Freeney eventually.

I thought Oher was false starting. I'll have to watch again. Because after a while I just assumed Oher was perfect in his snaps.

I hate to say it but because of his fast and sometimes too deep kick off, Freeneys spin move would give Oher the time of his life trying to pass protect.

Isn't it nice to see the Steelers fans complain about the ref'ing after a loss for once?
[/quote]

It's very nice.

Yes I know for a fact I saw a few false starts not called on Oher! But OH WELL, bout time that falls in OUR favor when 99.99% of the time it always goes against us. Pittsburgh fans just need an excuse to swallow that loss. They can use as many excuses they want, don't change the fact that THEY LOST!! Enjoy that slice of loser pie Steeler fans!!

Some are. Most of them are using this as an excuse to make fun of Ray Lewis for his complaints about officials after week 2. Typical

doesn't surprise me, a lot of times it looks like the defenders are offsides but they are just that timed to the centers movement. Remember when the center starts to hike the ball the play is live.

They can say what they want. The Ravens were the better team today.

AMEN to that!!! Well w/e excuse they want to use to justify that loss is all good. Even if Ben was playing today I think the result would of been the same IMO. Our defense except for two drives were on point all day and wanted it more than their defense. This will be a great week, going into next week at home against Denver!!

Well, I counted at least 2 PI's that weren't called and a handful of offsides that weren't called either. The fact is that Oher was NOT false starting, trust me, these refs are looking for it!

what they fail to mention is they got away with a few face mask and that helmet to helmet hit willis took looked intentional.

I could have sworn Ike Taylor pulled Mason's facemask for a few yards on the INT Joe threw.

I noticed a few plays where he was either the fastest guy on the field or very slightly ahead of the snap.

If they want to play that game, am I the only one that noticed that one almost every Pittsburgh blitz, they were VERY close to, if not offsides? But I can't complain on this day.
I can't remember if I saw this on the CBS or FOX postgame show, but one of the guys said "Making up excuses only shows weakness"...Pittsburgh?

I noticed this as well. It just seems Harrison had great timing, much like Oher did.
