TMC Has Been Playing A Lot Of Hammer Horror Films Tonight

16 posts in this topic

Hammer Horror Films are typically good and worth watching or at least to be played in the background, given the right situation.
TMC has been showing them one after another tonight.
If you're interested or just in the fall/horror mood, I suggest checking out most Hammer Horror Films. A lot of good classic horror that influenced some of the nonsense we see today.

Thanks for the heads up. Think I will record the psychomania one. I love October. I only watch horror movies in October (I save them all up and catch up on the classics). These will be good to fill in late nights.

am i the only one that gets CHILLER network?

It's not part of the directv package I get. I think if I bump my plan up I'd get Chiller network. I wish I did though.

I think a lot of the Chiller stuff is available "On Demand" whatever that means.
But TCM tends to have good taste, no matter which provider you have.
On a side note, later they are showing an old Tom Selleck apparent satanic/witchcraft film, it's a shame I'll miss it.
TCM does it in good taste. They will most likely play a lot of classic horror movies this month. Match it up with some football and it's a good time.

Tom Selleck played a Satanist? Isn't he the "Blue Bloods" guy that looks like Joseph Stalin? BTW, does anyone watch that show? The previews looked stupid.

I love horror movies! Only the classics though: every horror release since "The Devil's Rejects" has been a pile of... fake human organs!

The only Hammer horror film I am familiar with is titled, "Five Million Years to Earth", and it will scare the lving daylights out of a person, if given the chance.

However, that doesn't mean the entire Hammer horror oeuvre isn't good. It can be good for those who like their frights on a more cerebral note.

What's your favorite horror movie? Mine would have to be "The Exorcist." The remake of it that they made was the first horror movie I ever saw and loved. I saw "From Dusk Till Dawn" first, but frankly, it didn't really resonate with me. I'd like to see it again sometime though.

They are playing them again tonight, which leads me to think they play them all night on Friday nights throughout October.
The film that was on before this one, is called The Devil's Bride, it was actually really good, crazy, but good.

I was 4 years old when that came out. I saw the trailer in theaters and got scared of Bette Midler.

I can't remember that one, but if it's the one I think it is I recall loving it as a small child.
Bare with my vague recollection of it, but is that the one that takes place at a school, or something like that, and their are a bunch of kids, and the teachers, I think 3 (?) are witches, and all I remember is some crazy outdoor scene, and some kinda crazy face thing going on, maybe a cake or something, maybe some blood. Kinda a shocking kids film? I could be totally wrong.
I know that sounds crazy, but if that is the film I'm thinking of, I've wanted to see it again for years, since I had remembered it.
I watched it as a child so I will assume it came out either in the late 80's or early 90's.
If it's the film I think it is, I want to see it again, and thanks for mentioning that film, because if that is the title, I have to see it again.
