If Deangelo Williams Went To The Packers, How Would It Affect Fantasy Values?

10 posts in this topic

A possible trade of D. Williams is in the makings to the Packers, if sources are correct from this site (Other Team section of forums). If this were to pass through, how would this effect the fantasy world involving Williams, Stewart, Finley, Jennings, and Rodgers?? Other player discussions are welcome, as long as it pertains to this topic.

I posted this in the other thread. But in terms of fantasy. It's a win for everybody.

D-Will will live up to his 1st round billing being on an offensive team. J-Stew will elevate to starter and he IMO is the best back in Carolina and will get a chance to shine on his own. Anybody that picked up Jackson is already disappointed by his showing and probably isn't planning on starting him.

Good move for fantasy owners of all.

If this were to happen, I'd be one of the happiest fantasy owners alive. I have Williams/JStew/Jennings/Rodgers/Finley on my team, and there would be no way of stopping all of the Packers players, and JStew would develop as a possible flex starter. It'd give me much more flexibility, thats for sure.

I don't know why you would be happy about that. I'm never happy when I have all my eggs in one basket. Not enough TDs to go around.

But I Rodgers would have the passing attack still going at full force, but with less resistance due to Williams. Williams would get the rock much like Grant would. And Jennings/Finley are the two best wideouts on the team. Rumor has it that the Panthers would want James Jones, so that would free up a reciever in that department and make it Driver/Finley only competing with Jennings for targets.

Besides; who said I'd keep all the players?? If I can get enough compensation, I'd make a deal. Trust me; there's a Pack fan in my league who would do anything to have one of my Packers, as he told me a little while ago.

If you went into the playoffs starting D-Will, Aaron Rodgers, Finley and Jennings. And the Green Bay offense comes out and lays an egg, you're out. You have to hedge your players. You live and die by Green Bay.

Also the point about James Jones, if he were gone Jordy Nelson would fill right into Jones spot. They really like Jordy in GB.

And the point about me trading one or some of them for different, equal players??

Trading them for equal players, you'd be diversifying your roster, which for me would be a good thing. But its all a personal preference like always.

I'd be really happy if DeAngelo were traded to GB simply because I'd finally get some production from Jonathan Stewart who has been a monumental disappointment.

Another player whose value would increase is Mike Goodson. He's already eating into Stewart AND DeAngelo's snaps as a third-down RB and would see even more time if DeAngelo were traded.
