I was never overly impressed with him on the field. Even if I was, it wouldn't have held a candle to the regard with which I held him after he chose the Rangers over a $3 million contract. He shouldn't be anymore honored by the public for serving his country than any other who has lost his life IMO. But, as a former Marine, I respect him that little bit more for shunning money and changing uniforms.
