Bart Scott Guarantees 15 Other Ravens Want To Be Released And Join Rex Ryan

116 posts in this topic

“I guarantee you that there’s probably guys in the same spot right now jealous as h*ll,” Scott said. “Trevor probably gets texts like, ‘Man, come get me too.’ I guarantee you there’s at least 15 other players over there that’s praying to God that they get released for a half a day too, so they can come over here. They won’t admit it. But I guarantee you.”

Does this guy realize that, in addition to Rex's jokes about Reed and Lewis, that the quote from Rex about Mattison's defense to Rachel Nichols is part of what stoked Baltimore to allow only six New York first downs? Come on. You can get six on one drive. Anquan Boldin had eight on Sunday.

When did Baltimore become a team mediocre players felt comfortable taunting? I guarantee this won't be a big factor for guys like Lewis and Reed who bring their A game every week but, man, if they needed any more rage for a playoff rematch, you can thank Bart Scott. Congrats, you got Baltimore's third best DE. You aren't getting Terrence Cody or Ed Reed. Baltimore is.

A player as accomplished as Bart Scott (Pro Bowls, All Pro selections, 100 tackle seasons, Super Bowl Rings, etc) can say pretty much whatever he wants......

Bart may actually be right but really, who cares? Said players may wish they were playing for Rex but as long they give it their all in purple, I could care less who they secretly wished they were playing for.

Whatever. Bart still holds resentments because we gave Ray Lewis and Suggs contracts over him. He's on a team with a players coach and that will contractually explode after this season.

Are you joking? Bart doesn't have a ring and has been to the Pro Bowl and been an All-Pro selection once. And officially, he's only been credited with one 100-tackle season.

Bart is a good player but he's no difference-maker on Sundays.

If Bart Scott says it, it must be true...

And, frankly, Bart Scott was the one who was "jealous as h*ll" a few weeks ago, watching Joe Flacco kneel on the ball in victory formation..

Glad he got his confidence back, though, being shut down in the opener must have punctured his inflated ego.. even if just for a little bit.

He was never an All-Pro, I don't think, at least not first-team.

I was being sarcastic man.

He had 1 pro bowl in '06 (Due to Ray bowing out to get Bart in) and was a 2nd team all pro that season beating Ray by one vote.

That was also his lone 100 tackle season with 103. He tied Ray for the team lead although Ray missed 2 games that season..lol

I just checked:

2nd Team All Pro in 2006: Al Wilson-13 votes, Bart Scott- 8 votes

Ray Lewis finished with 7 and got robbed I thought. 103 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 int, 8 pd, 1 ff, 1 fr should have gotten him a spot over Wilson.

Greg Mattison's been coaching defensive line for longer than the 29 years that I've been here on Earth. I think if Pryce was important, they would have kept him. At most, it is a good argument that teams, especially the most stacked team, should have more than 53 men.

Lmao...

Somebody wanna remind him about that spanking that got put on them week 1 because of their mouths...

Everything was real quiet around NY for a week after that..

They string some wins together and looks like the Jets are back to running their mouths

So we beat them, and they sign one of our washed up veterans so that automatically means theyre better? Wow. Why would an player want to leave the Ravens? Matter of fact, Shannon Sharpe told Trevor Pryce that he had to go to Baltimore before he retired because its a top class organization. Sorry, but I think more players would pick the Ravens over the Jets, all other reasons aside.

Who cares? They're here and under contract and if that were the case we would have a hell of alot of locker room problems. Bart's just talking just to light a fire in our organization.

The Jets inferiority complex is so blatant that I'm almost embarrassed for them. I honestly have no resentment toward New York, but at this point it's comical.

Every time the Ravens release an old, washed-up veteran, or have a fringe player on the market, the Jets snatch him up and claim victory over the universe.

In your face, Baltimore, we got Marques Douglas and Jim Leonhard! Can you say Super Bowl?!?!?

I think the Jets should try focusing on winning their third division title in literally 50 years and shut the hell up.

As an article by the Sun stated, Rex is waaay too focused on taking jabs at the Ravens. Get over it, we didn't hire you because you weren't the best candidate to take over the franchise.

I'm not saying that picking up guys like Douglas and Pryce were bad moves, but if they hadn't come from Baltimore, proclaiming Jolly Green Jabaa as the greatest mammoth to ever hit the NFL, the signings would amount to nothing more than internet discussion about depth.

Yawn.... what's next McNabb is going to say 15 Eagles players want to play for the Redskins, Steve Spagnolo saying Giant players want to play for the Rams, etc. Guess what, I take what Bart said and the above scenarios(if they actually happened) all with a grain of salt. Bart has no room to talk... they got beat by us, and just because they win 2 they think they are good, and getting Trevor Pryce, last year he lost his job to Dwan Edwards, and he was in rotation with Redding and other ends this year. Pryce won't do nothing but make the Jets older, all a while Paul Kruger gets his chance to shine, along with Terrence Cody possibly playing soon the Ravens our actually getting YOUNGER on defense.

So to end I will give Bart and the rest of the Jets some good advice from Chris Jericho: Would You Please Shut The Hell Up!!!!!!

I'm sick of the Jets, when you go out and actually do something than you can talk, but don't talk when you were 9-7(the same record that got Mangini fired) and were handed a playoff spot. Yeah the Ravens were 9-7 too but hey we EARNED our Playoff spot last year, it wasn't handed to us on a silver platter and the Texans had to sit at home and watch as another team took their playoff spot which the Texans EARNED and were robbed of the 6th seed. Bart will shut up after Sunday when they end up losing to the Bills on Sunday.(No I'm not saying that because I want the Jets to lose but I actually believe that will be the Upset of the Week, Bills over Jets!)

Maybe Bart's just mad that Ray Lewis texts Big Ben more than he texts Bart. -_-

All joking aside, as much as people say that we Ravens fans have been fixated on Rex Ryan and Bart Scott for far too long, maybe those same critics should take a look at those same two individuals and question why they keep poaching former Ravens and keep talking about the Ravens without provocation?

Why do you all think that Trevor is washed up are you kidding me. The guy hardly sees the field but when he does he can be a force. Always in shape and a constant professional. The fans on here kill me. I guess having Kruger and zibby and Phillips play D this year on the starting unit is what you want, these guys are average at best. Losing these players is a very big deal. I think our coaches are losing the locker room. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Willis go over there after some kind of trade for him is complete. Harbaugh instead of Rex, are you kidding me?

Where to begin with this...

Pryce is washed up. He "hardly sees the field" because he's isn't as good anymore. There's a reason he was losing to snaps to Edwards(who can be considered a bust for where he was drafted) last year and Redding and McKinney this year. Yes, he's professional and keeps himself in great condition but his explosion is gone and you need that to get the QB.

What makes you think coaches are "losing the locker room". A veteran jumping at a chance to be reunited with a coach he liked after getting cut? Seriously dude. And if Willis were traded, it'd be because of hefty paycheck he's receiving and not much else.

Finally, Harbaugh >> Rex

He is old, hands down. I'd rather put our young guns into action in a divisional rivalry game such as against Pittsburgh, to get them up to pace. Zbikowski has proven he can start in this league, as our secondary is rated #1 in the league without Ed Reed. Of course it isn't purely his play that has led to this fast start, but if he was such a liability as you seem to believe, our secondary would NOT be #1. As for Willis, they have no need for RBs in NY, they have a rejuvenated LT and Greene who has potential. Harbaugh is a better coach than Rex, look at all the talent he has been leeching from other organizations just because he seems like a player's coach. He doesn't preach discipline, and neither does their organization, as evidenced by the multitude of penalties against them in Week 1, not to mention the Braylon Edwards incident. Harbaugh has proven he can get his players to buy into his ways, and we have achieved success in the playoffs the last two years, and this is DESERVED success, not sneaking into the playoffs by destroying two teams that were resting their starters. I'm going to laugh my butt off when they miss out on the playoffs this year and are stuck in a contractual crisis. Are you a Jets fan by any chance?
