No, you're right. The twitter feed wasn't updating properly, showing old tweets as if they were new..
But offensive tackle Jared Gaither, who practiced on a limited basis Wednesday for the first time in 55 days, was absent from the portion of practice open to the media. Gaither has been sidelined by a thoracic disk injury in his back.

I edited my post with the right info. You were right. Eh, if I was Gaither I wouldn't want to practice, either. It was bad enough walking to class.

Apparently some people are not familiar with being injured. You don't come back from a injury by practicing 5 days in a row, you have to ease into it. If he didn't practice today, that's part of the easing in. I don't think anyone realistically expected him to play Sunday.

You know what? Now that I re-read the comments, I didn't really see anyone talking down about him not practicing. I guess I just assumed that would be the next logical step in a Gaither conversation. :D

I know what it's like to have a bad back too. You have good days and bad. It's raining hard where I am - that'd be enough to sideline me for the day.

Well that didn't last long, now Gaither will be re-evaluated and the clock is ticking on whether he will be on IR for this season.

http://blogs.baltimoreravens.com/2010/10/01/gaither-to-be-re-evaluated/
Ravens tackle Jared Gaither’s injured back will be re-evaluated after he suffered a setback in practice Thursday.

That means Gaither, who practiced on a limited basis for the first time in eight weeks Thursday, is becoming a possible candidate for Injured Reserve.

“Obviously, the clock is ticking on something like that,” Harbaugh said, adding that’s the case with any lingering injury.

Gaither’s slight tear in his thoracic disk, which he suffered on Aug. 5, was originally diagnosed as a four-to-six week injury by Dr. Robert Watkins, the doctor Gaither and his agent Drew Rosenhaus chose for a second opinion.

Harbaugh reported that Gaither was starting to feel better about a week-and-a-half ago. Gaither felt like he was going to be ready to play this week.

“So he went out there and went through a very light practice,” Harbaugh said. “The next day, he came in and his back was sore.”
Put him on IR on Monday, move Yanda back to Right Guard, call up Willie Anderson(who I believe wants to come back anyway) sign him to a 2 year deal, where he can play RT this season and if needed for next year if Gaither has to be put on PUP than we will be covered with Willie under contract for next year.

I think Moll can play the RT an do a better job then what Cousins can. Plus that would put Yanda back where he belongs an performs best.

I hate to say it, but Gaither will never play another snap as a Raven IMO. Especially after what they said on 105.7 on Tuesday (Zino and Preston).

For those who missed it, the Ravens brought in (I forget his name, someone help me here!) a retired defensive Ravens player who overcame injuries to be a HUGE player for us during the Superbowl run to talk to Gaither- after 5 minutes the Ravens personnel had to practically pull him off Gaither. He was quoted as saying, "I don't get it, he has a huge opportunity here and he's throwing it away. He's done, move on without him."

That's interesting. It would be more interesting with a name and proof, but it it is what it is. Regardless, former Ravens defensive players don't make the personnel decisions.

That said, I can easily see that happening. If he can't find a way to get himself on the field, he needs to go on IR. If he spends the year inactive and on IR, it will be hard to imagine the Raven giving him a big paycheck. On the other hand, probably no one else (except maybe the Jets) will want to pay him either...

THAT'S who it was. I kept thinking defensive tackle when it was offensive tackle.

Yeah, the little "interview" he gave the next day was insane. That's why I stand by what I said, Gaither is good as gone.

EDIT: During the "extremely cut short man to man between Gaither and Zeus"... Zeus became so outraged at Gaither for what he's doing he spit on Gaither and strangled him with his bare hands. Zeus has to be physically removed from the room by staff.

INSANE.

Exactly. Honest days pay for an honest days work and Gaither hasn't put in work for a game yet!!
Stop hating on him! I doubt you've ever gotten as devastating an injury as Gaither did! If he gets injured again before he fully heals, he could have serious spinal problems, possibly even paralysis. Luckily, it seems that he's that he's almost back to normal. :argdancingravensblueonwkk8:

That's what was said on multiple radio stations (not from some crappy source, from reputable sources within the Ravens) that me and the other poster are talking about.

In short... the Ravens brought in Zeus to talk to Gaither and see what's going on. After 5 minutes Zeus spit on Gaither and leaped over the table and attempted to strangle (one said he strangled him, the other said he attempted to stangle) Gaither with his hands. The Ravens organization had to remove Zeus from the room and escort him out. Zeus later stated that Gaither has absolutely no desire to be here and he's throwing his career away.

Here is a joke for all the ravens fans

A Ravens fan, a Bangals fan and a Steelers fan are climbing a mountain & arguing about who loves his team more. The Bangals fan insists he is most loyal. This is 4 the Bangals! he yells,& jumps off the side of the moutain.. Not to be out done, the Ravens fan is next to profess his love for his team. He yells This is fo...r the RAVENS! & pushes the Steelers fan off the mountain. GO RAVENS!

I've heard the story on multiple stations that someone was brought in to talk to Gaither too but didn't hear it was Zeus and that the altercation between them was so heated.

Wow...

"So we're sending him for a re-evaluation, and he'll go out there on Monday and be re-evaluated by Dr. Watkins and just see what it is. Our doctors have looked at it, and they don't see it in there right now, so we've got to find out from the best experts what exactly is causing that problem."

Gimme a freakin break! What a farce.

They didn't say an exact date, it was said "recently" and "a few days ago" and it was reported on Tuesday. So I assume over the weekend?

What? Doctors not immediately seeing the problem with a BACK INJURY!??? UNPRECEDENTED!!! No one has EVER had back pain that wasn't fully understood, diagnosed, and cured in a month, so obviously he can't be telling the truth.

Give ME a freakin' break.

You are assuming that it is an injury just as much as people are assuming it's not an injury, and personal issues.

There is currently no proof either way.
