Jared Gaither Is Back At Practice!

91 posts in this topic

Gaither is back to practicing again. It is a very limited practice per Preston. Preston also notes that we might not see him for a few more weeks.

But some speculation on 105.7 says he might be in the lineup this week. And rumors are he looked good in practice.

Everyone: Cross your fingers and your toes.

1.) Will Gaither get hurt again this week?

2.) Will he do what is best for the team and WANT to play RT?

3.) 3 is like 1, will he get carted off the field?

Interestingly, Aaron Wilson feels Gaither will be out "at least few more weeks". I'd love to see Jared on the field come Sunday but am not sure it'll happen.

Why pay him right now?
Exactly. Honest days pay for an honest days work and Gaither hasn't put in work for a game yet!!

Depends what kind of money, speculation flew that he wanted to be paid in the top tier LTs in the league.

But I agree with BloodRaven...Oher vs Harrison leaves me worried...Birk and Chester blocking Hampton(if hes back) scares me...and Woodley vs Yanda has me pooping myself.

Good to see this news, and good to see Jared back at practice. I never try to question what the team does but I have to say that moving Oher to LT this year was way too soon to do so. I think they should have kept him at RT and kept Gaither at LT in which I'm hoping that is the case when he comes back. Oher isn't ready to play LT yet, you may think it's crazy saying that since his natural position is LT but Gaither needs to be at LT for the remainder of this year and next season, heck the next 3 if you include in the fact by 2012 we can Franchise him.

As someone mentioned we don't need to pay him now, in fact if anyone needs to be paid it's Haloti Ngata. The reason we don't have to pay him now is that for one he is tendered so he is ours, and secondly if they come up with a new CBA that won't be in effect until 2012, so I expect the same rules as we had this year for next year meaning we could just tender Gaither again, than when the CBA is back we can Franchise him. I hope to keep Gaither under contract with the Ravens for the next 2-3 years at LT.

pay the man!

Umm... Technically he has been getting paid all year for doing squat. How would you like to get paid your full salary and not have to do anything for an indefinite amount of weeks. If he is saving himself for a deal from another team showing how lazy he is and showing up undersized to camp isn't exactly going to have teams jumping all over him,

Once Gaither comes back, this offense will be sick. We saw what Joe can do last Sunday when he has time in the pocket. And with Yanda at G and Gaither at T, the run game will get going.

Scott just mentioned that Gaither has been practicing and could have possibly started last week.
If Gaither is ready to go, and in football shape, I'll be happy to see him out there against the Steelers.

The offense will probably improve when Gaither plays, but it might take a little while for him to return to form. I don't really expect for him to blow it up on Sunday (if he even plays), but I wouldn't be disappointed either.

Even if we did pay him he wouldn't be play. He would still be sitting there hurt. So why would we pay him a lot to sit on the bench?

Gaithers does mean a lot to the Ravens as a piece of this wall, but I think if he wants more money I think contract extension should be worked out.

Oh boy.....again, its Gaither, not Gaithers. And.......why pay him at this point? Prove something, then you get paid!

That's actually a good one. If he ever gets back to playing at a high level, the stadium should sing it.
