I went with gholston bc I think it's a more realistic 8th pick. I wouldn't want to pick up Cromartie as early as 8, and I don't see any way Long is gonna slide to 8. If Long magically slid to 8 I would be ecstatic. I'm also not really interested in Matt Ryan.

Gholston!! He is a freak and dominance always starts in the trenches. I don't think he will be there when were on the clock so if Ryan falls to us it will be him that we take but I prefer CB because IMO it's the most glaring need.

I definitely agree there, but the more i think about it the more i start to re-evaluate my decision. Would you pass up on c'mac or reed for gholston? im really starting to think DRC is that kinda player. In a perfect world we would draft gholston in the 1st, DRC in the 2nd, and Flacoo in the 3rd, :D but back to reality :( Gholston would be hard to pass up on but a trade down for more picks and DRC would be even harder, i think..

Draft day needs to hurry up and get here cuz i feel like a kid waiting for christmas standing outside of toys r' us. Its like askin a lil boy would he rather have a Huffy bmx bike? or an action grip bb gun?..imagine a 9yr old on a bmx bike with a bb gun!! oh the possibilities..

honestly i feel like gholston is gona pan out ten times better than chris long hes got that relentless motor and hes so freakin strong its like driving a mac truck into a white picket fence on top of that hes fast not de fast like 4.6 fast thats crazy also hes played better left tackles than long and hes the only person to get a sack off of jake long honestly if we get gholston i think hell be better than suggs and i love suggs but gholston just has those intangibles and hes ten times better at the run stopping than long is and i also believe his pass rushing ability makes him alot betterit also helps tha hes a hyprid player so he'd fit in great on our D

I still would like for us to get a corner with the 8th pick but i'm not sure if it wuld be Rogers-Cromartie though, probably McKelvin, Jenkins. We might be able to trade down and get him or Antoine Cason at a better suited mid-late first round pick. If Gholston is still available at 8, I wouldn't mind us picking him up though. I'm not too keen on Matt Ryan, even if he does fall to 8th overall.

I would take Gholston too, but I think that he will be gone by eight. I'm sure that New England will take him if he's around at pick seven.

Wow, I can already tell you know nothing about Chris Long or Gholston. Gholston will get a sack then disappear for a while. Chris Long is a missile that comes at you every play.

yeah agreed you can't just look at Gholstons impressive combine numbers. Long is known for his non stop motor and playmaking abilities and is going to be great in the nfl

but with the ravens D coming in a getting a sack and then disapearing for awhile is exactly the type of players we have right now. 1 player steps up then the next guy, then whens it time for him to step up again he will so on and so on. gholston is an athletic player and once in the Nfl he is only gonna get stronger, faster, and convert into a DE like freeney. Gholston on the opposite side of suggs with pryce next to him is a disaster for any offense. And obviously you dont know much about him either cuz its not all about sacks and stats. its about pressure. You dont have to sack a QB to have an effective pass rush and thats exactly what he is known for. Putting incredible pressure on the pass.

Youtube and the NFL network isnt the best place to draw your opinion on him from. Watch college football more and you'll know all you need to know about vernon gholston. He is still relatively new to football and is still learning so he is going to improve....One of Chris longs weaknesses is that he gets caught up in the block and his ability to shed the block is somewhat inconsistent. He lacks the burst around the corner, his motor is high but that doesnt mean he will get to the QB any quicker than gholston.

Both are outstanding pickups but they are unique in their own way. chris long reminds me of mario williams motor and gholston reminds me of dwight freeneys speed and power. Actually chris long would fit better in a 4-3 defense and gholston fits better in a 3-4 defense. Really your spliiting hairs between the 2. And the fact the gholston plays like a raven and is more likely to be at number 8 than long, gholston is the better pickup.

I do watch lots of college football. I've watched enough Ohio State football to know that Gholston isn't better than Chris Long.

The one thing you all need to take into consideration is that he didn't play many good OTs in the Big Ten. I know there is Jake Long, but that's a rivalry game, and only confirms that Gholston has to be motivated to give his best effort.

Chris Long had to go up against better lines and he plays in a 3-4. This year, he ate up all the double teams on his way to 14 sacks of his own.

Chris Long reminds me of Howie Long, the hall of famer.

Gholston is faster & should transition to LB more easily. He could be a Peter Boulware type. Yes I like Long for what he can do. They are both Ozzie type players. I'd be ecstatic with either but it will never happen. We might have a shot at Ryan which I would pass on because I think he is more of a media prospect. I like Brohm much more. He has a stronger arm and is known for his ability to read defenses.

I think Ozzie will take DB Jenkins. First I think there is a chance that he will be there and he is an Ozzie Newsome type player.

Gholston has speed but he reminds me of Jevon Kearse. He has no real pass rushing moves and can only come off the edge. One injury to his legs like a torn ACL and he is useless.

Gholston was very inconsistent, it's a risky pick. Boom or bust. Early in the season he hasn't done anything. Chris Long however shows up every week, but he will probably go to the Dolphins. So if it's between Cromartie and Gholson i would pick Cromartie because we desperately need a playmaking corner and i think he has more upside. At LB we already have Suggs and Barnes, we don't HAVE to bring in another pass rusher.
