Atlanta beat the Saints 27-24 in an overtime nail-biter. Brees threw a 40-yd rush TD, but then he panicked in a 3rd down and gave an interception at his 3-yd line. Atlanta made 2 4th down conversions. They made an epic 18-play drive: the Falcons were on the Saints’ 1-yd for many of them. ATL managed a 1-yd rush to score. The Falcons got the ball 1st in overtime; N.O. got possession but also failed to score. ATL then made the final drive and won with a 46-yd field goal.

Pittsburgh beat Tampa in a 38-13 blowout. Batch threw a pass to a player in his end-zone: a Buccaneer intercepted it but then fumbled it, allowing the original target to catch it and score a TD for the Steelers!! While Tampa Bay was trying to score a goal in Pittsburgh’s red zone, a Steeler intercepted the pass and ran 79 yds to score a TD!!

Baltimore beat Cleveland 24-17 in a close match. The Raven’s defensive line gave up 2 TDs, the first 2 this season. Flacco threw all of his 3 TD passes to Boldin. Anquan Boldin had 142 receiving yards. Flacco did much better this game than he did against Ohio’s other team, the Bengals. Surprisingly, their offense performed much better than their defense. Flacco was a bit slow at first, but after halftime, he was all fired up. He didn’t throw a single interception and didn’t get sacked during the game.

Minnesota beat Detroit 24-10. However, Favre threw 3 important interceptions. He’s made 6 interceptions so far this season; last season he only had 7 interceptions. He also got tackled multiple times because he was poorly defended. One of these tackles had Favre pulled over in agony, though he didn’t leave the field. He was also frustrated with his wide receivers. He managed to throw an 80-yd TD pass, though.

Tennessee pulled off a surprising 29-10 win against the Giants, especially since they only had 110 passing yds. The Giants scored a 50-yd field goal. Bradshaw pulled off a TD at the end of the 1st half, to make it 10-10. Their field kicker missed an easy field goal. But the Giants kept making stupid mistakes, like unnecessary roughness and retaliation penalties. They had a total of 11 penalties. Eli also allowed the Titans to score 2 safety points. The player of the game was, without a doubt, the Titan’s star RB Chris Johnson. He had 32 carries, 2 touchdowns and had 125 receiving yards!

New England beat Buffalo 38-30. The Bills put up a great fight. They made a 95-yd TD on opening kickoff!! However, the Patriots had a 40-yd rush TD, a 35-yd TD pass and a 26-yd interception in the Bills’ own end-zone! They also managed to gain 20 yds in 2 plays to allow them to score a FG in the last 11 seconds of the game.

Kansas City (3-0) beat San Francisco (0-3) 31-10. This continues the 49ers’ dismal losing streak this season (they lost to the SEAHAWKS 31-7!!) The game started off slow, but then the Chiefs started steamrolling the 49ers. This was made most evident when McCluster made an ingenious TD rush, jumping over a defender to make it to the goal.

Cincinnati beat Carolina 20-7. This was due in large part to the Panther’s 4 turnovers.

The Rams beat the Redskins 30-16 thanks to its great offensive plays. St. Louis scored 2 TDs in the first 6 minutes! They scored a 42-yd rush TD. The Rams’ Laurenaitis made 7 tackles. Both teams had 100+ rushing yds.

Arizona beat Oakland 24-23 in an extremely close match. Oakland made an impressive kickoff interception, but it gave up 123 penalty yds. The lead yo-yoed between the 2 teams, but the Cardinals made one last goal to take the lead. Oakland almost won with a FG in the last 4 seconds of the game, but their kicker missed at 39 yds!!

Michael Vick vanquished the Jaguars 38-3!! He threw 3 TD passes, including a 61-yd pass, and made a rushing TD too! He threw 291 passing yds. However, he’s had 11 sacks this season.

The Seahawks pulled off another impressive victory, 27-20, this time against San Diego. Seattle made a 100-yd kickoff return for a TD!! They also had a 99-yd kickoff return TD! San Diego gave up 5 turnovers. However, they gave up their first safety in 40 games to give SD 2 pts. Philip Rivers had a Chargers’ record of 455 passing yds! The Chargers tried hard to score 7-8 pts in the closing minutes, but the Seahawks’ defense proved too great a challenge.

The Colts pulled off a 27-13 victory against Denver. Peyton played great, pulling off a 48-yd TD pass. He gave Collie 12 catches. Denver put up a good fight in the 1st half, but then things went downhill for them.

The Jets won in arguably the best match of the night: they beat Miami 31-23. Mark Sanchez made a 24-yd TD pass in the 1st 3 minutes. The Dolphins narrowed the gap from 14-0 to 14-17. However, the Jets made a 67-yd rush TD in their first play of the 3rd quarter to take back the lead. The Dolphins made a 9 –play, 90-yd drive that led to a TD. Mark Sanchez made a rushing TD, but one of his teammates fouled. The Jets received some lucky punts, including starting at their 40-yd line after the Dolphins’ punt-kicker kicked out of bounds. However, they can’t make any progress against the D-line, so they have to punt it back. The ‘Phins lose a vital fumble at their own goal line when Rex Ryan has it overturned. The ‘Phins make a 41-yd 3rd down conversion, but the Jets won’t let them in. The coach loses a chance to score 6-8 pts by just scoring a FG. The Dolphins make a final drive that lasts 65 yds in the last 2 minutes. Rex lodges a seemingly useless question on a referee’s call. It takes 5 minutes for the ref to come to a decision. This reveals his true motive: he wanted his D-line some time to rest. It appeared to have worked: Miami fails to make a last-minute tie. The Dolphins had 436 offensive yds, while the Jets had 402. The Jets made a lot of penalties again: once they had 2 consecutive 10-yd holding penalties. Both teams had a lot of failed interceptions. Miami played the Wildcat many times. It was a truly epic matchup.
I know, it was rather long but it's my labor of love. Sunday had some truly great games!!

It's really more of his thoughts and commentary, rather than anything attempting to update people or keep them informed of this past Sunday's action, from what it sounds.

I just shipped this off to a publisher and they've agreed to turn it into a book! Whoo hoo, as a finder fee I require 5%.

I can't do it. My ADD does not allow me to read it. I tried and I failed miserably. I agree with FF throw some spaces, underlines, bolds, etc.

" The player of the game was, without a doubt, the Titan’s star rookie Chris Johnson."

???

Otherwise, it wouldn't be bad with more separation between each game. A very long paragraph is hard on the eyes.

true wasn't trying to step on toes but maybe color cordinate it next time lol
Thanks for your comment. I was trying to give my opinions on the games more than actual stats. Good advice: I'm definitely going to color-coordinate next time! :ICONATOR_01040da29c18a4eed76047

I think what he was getting at, was you called Chris Johnson a "rookie".

By rookie I mean a player who's new to the NFL. I meant no insults. Everyone from Montana to Favre STARTED OFF as a rookie!

Never use your own personal definitions, always stick to exact definitions when writing commentary. Even though you refer to him as a rookie to show his lack of experience, the term "rookie" is used to reference any player in their first year in the NFL. Stick to that definition. If you wish to refer to any player as young or inexperienced, just say that. Don't use mix up definitions for existing, common terminology or readers will be confused.
Yeah, I'm still mad about the commentators from Sunday's game...Steve Beurlein and Don however-you-spell-his-last-name are on my <crap> list.

I love it when Moderators get moderated.

Pretty good commentary over-all, although the San Diego in bright yellow is damn near impossible to see.

Awesome with the coloring and spacing! Nice job!

The San Diego color is offensive, though! Jeez
The yellow burns a hole through my soul. How is that even a forum color?

But yep great job on the spacing makes it more readily readable.

i only read a couple of them but ill give you some notes.

in the pitt game the int return wasnt quite in the redzone.

i wouldnt say the cb intercepted it, he jumped up and tried to grab it but it bounced of his hands

and you forgot troys int

oh and you havent changed the fact that cj is not a rookie

he ran over 2000 yards last season
