Will The Chiefs Make The Playoffs?

16 posts in this topic

at 3-0 they've stolen a march on the rest of the division (all 1-2) so can they hold on and make the playoffs?

i'm unsure really. but they look good. Charles and McCluster are real difference makers and the defense seem solid enough what do you guys think?

in a division where they could make the playoffs at 8-8 id say they could have a very good chance. Will they go deep in them,I don't think so

They have an extremely good chance, especially with the Chargers and Broncos currently up-and-down. The Raiders, surprisingly, are the only other real threat in the division, as Bruce Gradkowski has been a marked improvement over Jason Campbell under center.

I'd love for either the Raiders or Chiefs to make it as a wild card, just to shake up the playoff picture. Same with the Texans in the AFC South and the Bills (huge longshot) in the AFC East.

I think they have a great chance. They have so much speed (Ex. McCluster, Charles) and a great dual-back running game (Charles and Jones). Cassel hasn't been playing too badly, either. With a little luck, I could definitely see the Chiefs make the playoffs, although I doubt they'll get very far.

If they can hang on, than yes it is possible. They are 3-0 but when it comes to the division you could say they are 4 games ahead since they have a win over the Chargers. The defense is solid, and Eric Berry has been great and is showing why they drafted him.

It would shake things up in the AFC especially if the Chiefs win the division and are the only AFC West team in the playoffs meaning we would have some new AFC teams. I'll say this, it is because of the Salary Cap that allows teams like 2008 Dolphins to go from 1-15 to Division Champs, it is the Salary Cap that allows teams like the Chiefs to go from 3-13 to sitting atop the division at 3-0 the next season.

Well San Diego, Oakland, and Denver still have 1 win, so they can't be 4 games ahead... San Diego always starts out slow so it's tough to call them out since they've been missing McNeill (and VJ can still come back). Surprisingly, SD is top 5 in total offense and defense right now. Maybe I'm clinging onto stats too much. I'd like to see the Chiefs win.

I wouldn't call the Raiders a legitimate threat at all. Chargers will bounce back, they always do, much to my dismay. Broncos are anyone's guess.

I think the Chiefs might make the playoffs just because the division is weak, but I don't see them actually beating playoff teams. I just don't think they're there yet.

As of this posting, I think the Chiefs look good, but the season is still young yet, and there is always the chance that the Chargers will come on strong in the later stages of the season. I don't really know what to make of the Broncos and as for the Raiders, that's a literal horror show anymore.

If the Chiefs can hold on to their wits and keep up their good work, then we may see them in the playoffs. As for how far they could go, we'll just have to take things one game at a time.

Agree with everything... but the Bills are more likely the #1 favorite to have the first pick in the draft next spring.

I'd love to see KC make the post-season. They have two of my favorite non-Ravens players in Eric Berry and Brandon Flowers and it's about time someone took that division from the soft Chargers.

I don't think they will make the playoffs either, teams will pick up on their offense and force Matt Cassel to beat them, which I don't think he will be able to do.

The Chargers are going to get rolling like they always do, anyone who doesn't think they are a threat is mistaken.

We need scientists to explain why the Chargers get off to bad starts every year. Where's the Congressional money for this study?

At some point in time, it will just click for the Chargers and they won't lose again until their first playoff game.

I'm really unsure about KC. They've been doing good sofar, but I think it's still too early to tell, especially since the Chargers are well known for boucing back from bad early-week games. KC doesn't have any threatening division opponents besides SD, so it'll really depend on he Chargers' performance.
