Favorite Ravens Play Of All Time

43 posts in this topic

It's not the most important, but since it was done by my favorite Raven it made it my #1 Ravens play of all time. McGahee's gamebreaker and PAWNAGE ULTIMATE STIFF ARM to that Oakland Raiders defender last season. Here comes Willis ! Hopefully he'll duplicate that next week, but this time PAWNAGE ULTIMATE STIFF ARM will be made on Head & Shoulders.

NOTES: The Ravens always play loose vs. Cleveland. I don't use the Cleveland games as a barometer, it's like a bye week. Peyton Hillis, did anyone read or see any feedback from Ray Lewis on Peyton Hillis post game? Ray Rice always makes me nervous when he cuts back, his legs churn so fast with so much stress I always worry about injury with him. Boldin makes it look so easy, the WR position is such a mystery to me how one receiver can be so much better than another. I thought maybe they'd give Heap a week off with Pitta and Dixon, nope, have a seat rookies. Next week I feel good about, but if we don't beat Charlie Batch and the Steelers I'm gonna be pissed. The Steelers are the most resilient team in the NFL, they can lose half there team to a flu viris and win in a blowout. I missed the Dick LaBow breakdown pregame, I heard it was good. It will be neat to see our offense at the end of the year it should be a machine, unlike now where it just seems jumbled and, "shi* lets try this", without much structure.

Never heard of him. But this one guy they have, Dick LeBeau, is brilliant. Heard he was a halfway decent DB in his day too!

Seriously people. Can't we show enough respect and education to spell names correctly? This is getting out of control.

Study:
Boldin
Houshmandzadeh
Gregg
Mattison
Harbaugh
Ngata
Gaither
Oher

Not that hard!

Is it really that serious? You know who he's talking about so why make an issue if he/she spells it wrong. Have you ever thought that maybe some people are posting from their phones and they can't do a spell check or leave the website to verify the spelling. Seriously they're are much bigger things to worry about besides someone spelling a name wrong.

Dick LaBow, haha, that's a good one. Our old coach Brian Belichek was better.

Its about respecting the people. I tell people my name is Ryan all the time and then they go on calling me Brian. It gets frustrating. I would hate for those people to go on to tell another person "That Brian guy is an ***"

The Bolden one is killer

Favorite play it's hard to knock down one
Jermaine Lewis' pinch in the mouth to the Giants during SB 35.Giants think the are getting back into the game and Lewis takes the kickoff for a TD.
Kruger's INT last year against Dixon to help break the losing streak to the Steelers.
Too many Ray Lewis hits to narrow it down.

Explain to me how misspelling someone's name is disrespecting them? Your example is different, They're either not hearing you or just simply don't remember. At least w/ the spelling you know exactly who they're talking about, they're just spelling it wrong. Again, some of these people are posting from their phones and may not have the ability to check/verify the spelling of a player's name.

No big deal.
Because its not their name? Disrespecting was not the best terminology to use.If you are going to talk about a person like Dick LeBeau, you can at least take a second to look it up, even if you are on a cell phone (or call him the Steelers D*). We are becoming such a lazy society where we can't look up something and blame it on a cellphone (I'm guilty of this myself).

I don't like to correct people's writing, because mine is horrible. But reading posts where names are misspelled loses credibility to me. That's just me. You may be fine with it.

So many great plays. Even the one last year where Rey Lawis stormed down the hole and crushed Spools on 4th down. Nerf Torner looked so disappointed.

Come on man stop complaining about spelling. At the end of the day as long as someone is talking about football nobody cares. And just for that

TJizzel is right. C'mon people, let's look foolish for no reason.

But I'd have to say my favorite play was the Ray Lewis hit on the Cmac kick return. You guys know which one.

Oh good grief.....this is a brain buster...

really honestly I can't think back further than last season (I'm surprised I can remember how to get dressed in the morning sometimes :D)

The two that make me grin the biggest:

Ray Lewis's smackdown on Darren Sproles at the end of the game last season. I was sitting in a bar in Yosemite NP...the only Ravens fan in a sea of Chargers and Niners fans. That hit happened and the entire place went stone-cold quiet. I stood up with a huge ear-to-ear grin on my face, turned around and blew a kiss to the guy behind me who had been heckling me the entire game, exchanged fist bumps with the 'Skins fan I'd been talking with, and walked out of there, head held high.

Also remember fondly Lil' Ray's 83 yarder against the Patriots in the playoffs last year. That was truly a run of beauty.

Ray Lewis stealing Eddie George's soul in the 2000 Divisional game. Just pure will over another man that entire game.

2 plays.......Back to back (McGahee and McClain) HUGE TD runs to shut down Dallas' old stadium. I was with a few Cowboys fans that day and was reveling in our glory. The best part was that allegedly Jerry Jones hand-picked the Ravens for that game because he thought we were an easy opponent.......

My favorite would be McGahee's TD run against the Cowboys in '08. McClain's run sealed the game but McGahee's run was amazing on so many different levels.

I'll never forget Brown, Chester and Neal throwing the blocks to spring Willis. I couldn't believe my eyes when he broke through the mass of people and was jumping for joy while laughiing as Deion Sanders lost his mind. The stunned silence in the stadium was also sweet.

So many good things about that game. Ed Reed with 2 picks. Derrick Mason with 1 arm catching the TD, also recovering the LeRon McClain fumble. The 2 runs, besting the previous records for longest rushing touchdowns in the Dallas franchise history in that stadium.

Epic, Epic game. That I got to rub it in my father-in-laws face, so much the better.

While I'm sure he did, he was on the bench and injured when it happened.

It's Polamalu's pick-six in the AFC Championship right?

Well, this is "Favorite Ravens Play of All Time" so I would have said Flacco's pass to Troy for six, yes. But again, you guys needn't have guessed. I wasn't going to mention it.

2008. Ed Reed picks off the Browns. I loved this play because Ed was so fast the Camera man kept panning left and had to catch up with Ed going to the right to the endzone before the half for a score.

I love this play so much but can't seem to find it!

I think McCallister (who I hated) started a trend with his return of a missed (short) Denver FG. Plus Ray Lewis (who I also extremely dislike) laid out a dude on that return. That play was seemingly a first of its kind.

Any big play we've made against the Steelers especially if McAllister or Lewis made them. Just for thewarden but of course I'm just kidding......sort of.

It's hard to pick specific plays especially any that weren't already said because I like all of them. Getting McNabb benched wasn't exactly a play but I think it should get an honorable mention. In that same game, Reed's record setting pick 6 was a nice play. I also liked the pick 6 Deion Sanders did against the Bills especially because I was there. I guess that whole Patriots game in the playoffs last year. There's so many more though.
