Buckcherry Halftime

26 posts in this topic

ok so i was psyched when I first heard Buckcherry was gonna do halftime and planned on remaining planted in my seat instead of my usual beer run. Then I heard the noise that was coming out of the stadium speakers. I had no idea they were THAT bad (the speakers that is). All you could hear was distortion from the bass and it totally ruined the performance. Now that we got HD this past off season, any chance we can get some decent audio?? Maybe then M&T could actually host concerts to generate more revenue.

thoughts?

I'm shocked at how un-prepared the staff at the stadium is for many events. They have the band play in the middle of the field, and a while back they didn't even have microphones so even if you were in the front row... you could BARELY hear them. I sit in lower level, and nobody around me could hear them. Eventually they got microphones so we could hear the band... but like you previously stated, the sound coming from the speakers was so distorted that you couldn't make out the song, just simply that they were playing something. There's other things I just don't get about the stadium. The cheese for nachos is NEVER hot. It's luke-warm at best. I've tried different concession stands, and no luck. This is the only stadium I've been to where I can never get hot nacho cheese. I don't get it. There's many other examples of my displeasure with stadium staff and event management... but I won't get too wound up on it since I go to the stadium for the game and that's all that REALLY matters.

We should remember that you should play a song that gets the players and crowd into the game. I can guarantee 90% of the team can't stand that group, and while only a small percentage of the fans like them i say don't ever do that again.

I've only ever liked two Buckcherry songs, and I can barely get away with playing them on my show because of the profanity and drug references. So...yeah, no love lost if they never performed at M&T Bank Stadium again.

I mist say that is the first time I have ever heard the National Anthem sound like a Christmas Carol, not sure how they did it. Speakers sounded terrible.

Wasn't Buckcherry playing from some sort of flatbed truck that was driving around the sidelines of the field? If so that probably had something to do with the quality of the sound. I have never liked Buckcherry, like was pointed out already, their lead singer sounds like crap and most their stuff sounds like something that has already been written by another band.

Buckcherry... a letdown? How shocking. I'd be more shocked if they weren't a letdown, after all, they're just another cookie-cutter radio rock band. *yawn*

What is Buckcherry anyway? A band? Were they gonna do a love number or what?
...
After a quick search, they seem like some boring, typical, lame, useless band. Who wants to hear 60bpm at a football game? No wonder the teams go in at halftime.

The sound system at M&T is pretty amazing. I have worked with the sound company that did the instalation and the maintainance as of my last contact with them a few years back.

I recon the distortion was not at the speaker but some where else in the signal path.

Also any live concerts you see there will travel with their own sound system and almost never (if ever) tap into the exisitng sound system.

Artists don't use the stadium speakers when performing a stadium concert.
It just happened since this was a small scale performance they did.
Yes, the sound system is horrible at The Bank. It always has been. Any song with sufficient bass always distorts.

If there was a way for Buckcherry to actually sound worse than normal Sunday...it definitely happened. lol

In 114 the speaker must have been blown behind us, it was painful.
[/quote]

was just as bad in 121.

Am I the only person in this board that actually likes Buckcherry?

Yes, you must have very special ears to not want to break your radio when you hear the lead singer.
