I can't help but think that most of the players were thinking ahead to Pittsburgh and were not as focused on the Browns as they should have been.

Not to criticize the coaching staff or the dedication of the players, but it's only natural to overlook an opponent that you manhandle perennially.

I don't believe this for a second. You hear every week about how hard it is to win a game in the NFL, and all of our veteran coaches and players are aware of this. Nobody was looking past the Browns, they just played really good football on the ground. That's fine. We'll see the game tape, see what we did wrong, what they did right, adjust - and then we will crush them. :jedi:

I would like to know how PEYTON HILLIS managed to drag Ngata, Lewis and whoever the third person was that was in there like 4 yards LOL. Did anyone else see that when the Browns were on like the Ravens 10 and Ngata, Lewis and it might have been McClain all were latched onto him and he kept going. Was it Landry on the other play where Hillis got through and all Landry could do was hang on? Maybe the Ravens should get a 6' 2-4" back like Brandon Jacobs or Hillis if they can just run people over and drag them like that, LOL.

Overpursuit, bad tackling and some other things. The biggest problem though was the Browns O-line and Hillis, they came to play. I'm just glad we pulled it out though.

I love our defense as much as the next person, but honestly, I believe our linebackers were the reason for such a poor showing against the Browns. If you look at the big plays, too may times our linebackers were sitting still as blockers came off the line to get them. Also, I saw poor attack angles that put them out of the play. You can bet that every team we will meet will be using this game as a blueprint on how to beat our defense.

LBs are meant to take on blockers if they have to. If they were to move out the way, they create even bigger lanes for RBs to run through. Ngata and Gregg were the ones mostly getting beat and allowing interior o-lineman to get to the second level.

I agree pursuit angles were poor at times but I really don't see what blueprint came out of this game. The Browns simply muscled up and beat the Ravens up front. How many teams really have the personnel to do that? The Giants ran all over the Ravens back in '08 but the Ravens went back to being stout against the run after that.

If you look close at the game, our LB's were not attacking the line. LB's aren't supposed to take on blockers, that is the job of the D-line, that is why Ngata gets so much recoginition because he takes on the double teams and still makes plays. A LB is supposed to meet the RB in the hole. Attacking th e line, proper angle, recognition, and finishing tackles are all fundementals of great LB's. We have to step our game up big time
Notice, I said, "if they have to", LBs are supposed to take on blockers. I agree LBs are supposed to meet RBs in the hole but both Ngata and Gregg were getting quickly washed out allowing Browns o-lineman to get to the LBs. I'll check out Peyton Hillis highlights(still can't he did what he did) to see if the LBs weren't crashing the line as they normally do.

Regardless, the game is over with. I'm the entire front seven is angry with their performance and will go into Pittsbugh with bad intentions.

i still dont believe for a second that the Browns guards and centre > Gregg and Ngata. Nobody can was those two when they play their gaps tight.

There were a few times they threw the double team on Gregg in the running game and he didn't have a chance. The front 7 will have a bad taste in their mouth heading into the Steeler game, which is a good thing. I hope Ray doesn't break Mendenhall again, I have him in both my fantasy leagues.
