Eye On The Rival Steelers (2010)

I'm now at odds with fellow Steelers fans. Only JonM and I knew Charlie Batch was a solid back up. What's up wit dat?

My father's a Steelers fan, and he's always been supportive of Batch as the back-up.

But Batch does look good. Any chance he surplants the Roethlisberger? Didn't think so.

If Roethlisberger comes out and lays an egg it would make for an interesting predicament.

It's not going to be an easy task to win next week. I think that most intelligent Ravens fans understood that the Steelers were going to be as good as ever this year, after Ben's suspension. I was surprised to see them shut down the Falcon's offense, although I thought they might shut down Chris Johnson. We're really seeing how much of an impact Polamalu has. I still think that Dennis Dixon would have given you an even better chance to win next week.

I doubt we sweep the Ravens. I'm sure we'll split. That said I doubt we win Batch and lose with Ben.

Well you know how this rivalry works. The home team generally dominates.

But absolutely anything is possible.

We have got to force turnovers next week. Scoring opportunities will be rare for both sides, and our defense has forced only one turnover in three games. I'm sorry, but that's got to change next week.

not looking forward to next week. steelers D is sick.

Off topic, I saw a pic of Palamahau (sp?) today. Did he cut his hair? ( maybe he will loose all his power !! )

There is no way he's cutting his hair. He has a huge sponsorship with H&S. Wouldn't happen on a whim. Maybe he got a piece of gum stuck in it.

Anyone else think that it will be the lowest scoring game of the week?

12-9. No TD's for the day.

Really now? For a while, Batch was considered the best backup in the league.

I love it. I want a bare knuckles, kick your freaking teeth in fight next weekend. Looks like thats exactly what we're going to get...I get little joy out of beating up on the Brownies.

I don't know, home field advantage could flip that.
Plus the addition of Reed, and hopefully our offense is clicking by that point later in the season.
I could see a loss for the Ravens this week, and a win later on, while we're at home.

I have to admit that I'm surprised at how well the steelers are faring without Ben. I also have maintained all along that Batch is the rightful backup there. I think he's been dealt and crappy hand. He's filled in admirably in the past for them and then they put Dixon and Leftwich above him.

As far as our date with them next week I expect a low scoring affair again. My key to the game is turnovers. The steeler srae forcing them left and right and we can't get any to save our skin. Neither offense is going to dominate so it's whomever can force errors or maybe make a big play on special teams.
